At £9.8k.
My pick would be this one (lowest cost target):
https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202002127247704
Or this one (lowest mileage):

With only 100 miles, you know it has truly simply sat there and not been mistreated. Only due diligence is to check it was not in need of any bodywork repairs.
That said, having only done 152 miles since 1st January, I could not justify any kind of car purchase.

The one I want to buy comes up as £9405. My trade-in comes in at £2375, but it needs a new clutch that has not been taken into account by WBAC, (although I have discussed this with the dealer, and we have both agreed £600 discount off my car for this).
This gives a total cost to change price for me of £10,040, with the WBAC cost to change price of £7,630, a difference of £2410.
Should I try to get a reduction of 50% of this, ie £1,205 or thereabouts? Or should I aim for £1,000 or less? I'm not sure how much they would need to make for the deal for them to be worthwhile.
I very very much doubt you will get anywhere near £1,000 off. Frankly i'd be surprised if you get £100 off.
Certainly no harm in asking, but give yourself room not to storm out if they dont accept your offer.2 -

What is the advertised price of the car you want?
They will all be £9.5k at WBAC, but that is largely irrelevant - just a "nice to know" for you.
Your car is trade at £2,375 - £600 = £1,775.0 -
These cars are at rock bottom and, frankly, nil room for negotiation.
I called one of the dealers for the sake of interest, and this is what I was told (enquired against the one advertised at £10,490 https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202002127247704 ). That one is sold, but the dealer has three others he can offer me today at the same price:- Mileage 4-6k, white, silver, black choices
- 69 plate 2020, so will be offered with the balance of 3-year manufacturer's warranty - the service to maintain the warranty is included as part of the pre-sale inspection
- Some have floor mats, so you get them. Some don't have floor mats, so you don't get them.
- VED is extra £150
- Full tank of fuel not offered.
- Click and collect or delivery at £1.20/mile (transporter or driven delivery). There are others on here that can advise about whether the consumer rights are better if collected or delivered, relating to the distance selling regulations.
Taking the OP's trade-in value (after allowing for the clutch) £1,775 deducted from the car price £10,490 + VED £150 gives a cost to change £8,865.
In terms of negotiation, the best I think you'd be able to push for is £8,800 for a deal there and then and ready to pay the deposit on credit card.
If you tried to push for a big discount, I think you would simply get a very firm "NO" and the conversation would end.0 -

Also, EH have a £95 admin fee to check that the car is not stolen, no outstanding finance etc. But as they have owned it since new this seems unnecessary, but it's still compulsory.0 -
EH don't want your car.
Buy the new car from EH.
Sell the old car to WBAC or Motorway0 -
If buying go to Hey car https://heycar.co.uk/
Its a comparison site for all dealers, but they offer £50 petrol and free delivery,i used it to get a better deal from a main dealer.0 -

Adding a middle man whos getting a cut rarely benefits the end customer.

In this case, I really don't think the OP can do much better than the advertised deal that has been found through EH. May be possible to get a few £'s off, but that's about it.
Does seem the OP would be better to sell the old car through a separate buying service than through EH.
Given the OP has a questionable clutch on the old car, could be well-advised to get on and do the deal on the new car so they are enjoying it and can be rid of the old before the clutch gives up totally leaving the OP lumbered with a bill to repair.
Good luck OP, and let us know how you get on.0
