I went to see the Dr today and explained my situation and he signed me off sick for 2 weeks and I have to go back and see him then. He asked me a series of questions and told me that I am moderately depressed and need to take some time out. I will be down on my wages as I will only get s.s.p but with any luck I will get company sick pay and that will be a nice top up but it still won't be as much as my wages  I will make use of this time by ebaying and I will make the most of the 5p listing day tomorrow.LBM 14/12/06 £21,947.17 DEBT FREE 12/04/09

I have been ebaying like a woman possessed and I do actually seem to be making progress :T but I must stop myself buying whilst I am on there  and also buying things I think will sell well on ebay as I already have 20 boxes  under the stairs just gathering dust
Only 5 weeks until I go on holiday so that is something to look forward to. Plus whilst I am away everything will be turned off, even the fridge freezer as I will be emptying it so we will be quids in :rotfl: We will be taking £2000 spending money as I would rather have too much than too little so hopefully we will bring some back :A
As always any advice is greatly received as I can feel my 30th birthday creeping up on me! Only 17 more payments  so in theory I should be paying £882.35 per month  which I am not so I will either have to cut back more or earn more.I WILL BE GOOD TODAY AND WORK HARD ON EBAY :money:LBM 14/12/06 £21,947.17 DEBT FREE 12/04/09

Well I am finally under £15000 and I feel that it is psychologically better! :j I now owe £14500 which is still a lot but at least I am making progress :A Also, I have paid off £7447.17 off my debts since my lightbulb moment, which I am pretty impressed with. I know it is not as much as some people have paid back over 18 months but at least it is going in the right direction.
I am also looking at new mobile phones as my contract is up and I cannot stand my current phone. I have been doing extensive research on the internet and have found some good deals but it's just a question of which phone to choose. Do I go for a phone I really love which over 6 months would cost £239.95 and possibly an unlocking fee (that is including cashback and redeeming monthly charge) or the phone that was before the one I love not as good spec. but would be £99.95 and possibly an unlocking fee (that is including cashback and redeeming monthly charge) over 6 months or a phone I don't mind, but is not great yet tolerable, which over 12 months after redemption would cost £23.88 (and possibly £50 cashback). I know it really is a no brainer and I should go with the cheaper option as it would save me so much and it would only be for 12 months but I prefer the other phones. Now as you can see this is where I got in trouble in the 1st place by wanting something as it was pretty and not giving any though to the money I would be paying.
I am off to ebay now as I am loving the progrees that I am making on my ever growing boxes and it is fun to watch the bids go up!
Any advice is greatly received especially regarding the mobile phone :money:

I have decided to go with the cheapest option. So I will get a Nokia 6300 (not great looking or best spec. but I only really really use it to text, call and take the odd picture) with 200 minutes and 200 texts per month. This will cost me £30 per month but [STRIKE]if[/STRIKE] when I send off my bills (4 times a year so I best set a reminder) I get £80+ cashback so efectively I will be getting it for £1.99 per month. :jLBM 14/12/06 £21,947.17 DEBT FREE 12/04/09

How annoying is it when a stupid mistake has been made that will cost you money? The freezer was left open, and I can only assume all night as all the food had defrosted and the ice-cream was a liquid. I went through everything, unfortunately the freezer was full  , and have salvaged what we can, not a lot  . I filled a 50 litre bin liner full of ruined food and it just felt like I was throwing money away
. I am now going to meal plan until we go on holiday (8th June) and will just buy things for the freezer we will definately use.
I am also ebaying like a mad woman and at the moment I have 53 items listed and they are doing rather nicely. Most of them finish on Sunday so I am hoping that the bidding goes up over the weekend. :jLBM 14/12/06 £21,947.17 DEBT FREE 12/04/09

I am really liking this warm weather:j As well as being nice it is also practical as I have been doing lots of washing, on 30 of course, and then line drying it. It also means the heating never goes on and that will save us a fortune :T
I am also doing some more ebaying today as I am really into it at the moment. I also have some items finishing today and they are at just over £70 and I am hoping they will go up in the last few hours, maybe I am getting too greedybut it's great watching the bids go up!
I got a surprise when I looked at my Quidco earnings as there are £157.19 tracked in there. :j
My OH were talking the other day about spending habits and where they come from. My mum and nan are both excellent with money and don't have any debts, infact they both have savings. Also, about 10 years ago they both moved homes and took out loans to help they redecorate and furnish their homes, and that was the only time in their lives they ever had loans or ccs. My nan absolutely hated it and they both paid them off and have never borrowed again. My OH's parents have no debt and savings too and are great with money. They still shop around and get the cheapest deals but they get to keep the money they save and not throw it at debts like we have to. His mum told me a story the other day which I found quite amusing. When they bought their house about 40 years ago they took out a mortgage for £8000 (it is now worth £120000) and had sleepless nights worrying about it. Now we are terrible with money we [strike]spend[/strike] spent far too much and [strike]don't[/strike] didn't even worry about where it [strike]comes[/strike] came from. So I assume it is not some hereditary condition, overspending. :rotfl:
I think I know how mine started. I used to live with a couple of friends and they had their own business and could afford to buy all the nice things they wanted. I always felt like I had to keep up with them and I developed a taste for designer names. Then about 2 years ago 1 of my friends was made bankrupt so it made me think that even though he had all those nice things he hadn't actually paid for any of it and was sinking in his own debts. Keeping up with the Jones's is never a good idea as they too may not have paid for it and the repercussions can go on for years.
Well must dash as there is ebaying to do. :ALBM 14/12/06 £21,947.17 DEBT FREE 12/04/09

I go back to the Drs tomorrow which I am very nervous about as I hate the idea of being sent back to work. I have also been struggling if I have to leave the house on my own, I get very shaky and struggle breathing. I know I need to pull myself together but I am just finding everything so hard at the moment. I am currently taking prozac but they are not working too well at the moment, in my opinion. I have been actively looking for a new job but I do worry about going for interviews with my current state of mind. Also, my mum thinks that I may not be able to cope getting a new and having to adjust to a new environment and meet new people. But I don't feel that I can stay where I am at the moment as it is making me so miserable.
I have been making the most of the nice weather again by line drying my washing, after I have washed it on 30 of course and I have started to use a little less washing powder and fabric softener. :A
I am also doing a lot of ebaying so I am making the most of my time off work and it is nice to finally be clearing some space. Unfortunately, I still have about 20 boxes to list so I really do need to get busy and I can pay off my debts sooner.
Any advice is greatly received as I really want to be debt free by 30 well ideally before I am 30 so I better go and get busy on ebay :TLBM 14/12/06 £21,947.17 DEBT FREE 12/04/09

The Dr has signed me of work for another 2 weeks and has changed my medication so hopefully that will work and I will start to feel like my old self soon. If I have worked it out correctly I should be getting roughly the same amount of money as when I am working as I will get ssp and hopefully company sick pay.
I will be busying myself with ebay and hopefully my recent success will continue as on Sunday my auctions made £115, before fees etc. As well as clearing the boxes and making me some money I find it keeps me out of trouble too :rotfl:
Not too long until my holiday and I cannot wait as I am sure it will do me good to get away and forget about things for a while. We are taking £2000 for the 2 of us for 2 weeks but hopefully we will bring some back and that can go straight of the debt.
I have been looking at my challenges and I am not doing too well  I have found that slice the pie has been annoying me recently as a lot of the songs possess no musical talent and I find myself running out of things to say. Also, it is not that prolific so I am probably best working on my ebaying at the moment. I must either cut back or earn more money as I am doing dreadfully at the pay off £10k in 2008 challenge and if I am to meet my target I will need to pay £1171.43 per month for the rest of the year  It would be great to achieve this target and do well in the challenge as it would put me in such a good position to pay off my debts by 30.
Any advice is greatly received :money:LBM 14/12/06 £21,947.17 DEBT FREE 12/04/09

Hi there, hope you're doing OK and start to feel better soon. Am sure the holiday will make a big difference
Sounds like you're doing really well with eBay - haven't tried Slice the Pie but it sounds like a bit of a pain to me! Do you do any surveys etc as well? They can be a pain too but it all adds up. Have you got any books you could put on Amazon or Greenmetropolis? I find the £10 a day challenge really motivating. How much extra do you need on top of your normal payments to reach your target?Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -

I have just joined onepoll and have a few pounds in there already. I do have some books on Amazon and the rest of my books are being put on ebay, gradually, as I think they will do better on there. I pay my mum £500 per month and put £300 in my isa so if I could get an extra £400 a month I will definately be on target for my 10k challenge and to pay off my debt before I am 30.
I have been working very hard on ebay today and have got a lot of stuff listed. There are a few things finishing on Sunday and they are at £83.86 at the moment but I am hoping they will go up at the last minute, greedy I know
I am going to get busy on there tomorrow as I am liking seeing my boxes go down and my paypal balance go up :rotfl:LBM 14/12/06 £21,947.17 DEBT FREE 12/04/09
