We are both retired, last of the kids flown the nest and we really need to downsize. My daughter and son in law are thinking of buying a plot of agricultural land very close to their home, maybe a few acres as my wife wants her own allotment and I want to farm Guinea pigs, rabbits for meat and a couple of chickens for eggs. The land they are looking at is around £6K per acre as it's purely agricultural. They have about £20k left to budget for our tiny house which we are looking for a used one, don't mind adapting it a little here and there. They want to buy it for us kind of like a granny flat so we can babysit the grandchildren. We want to travel a fair bit, friends up in Scotland with a similar small holding that we can bring our future tiny home for prolonged periods, so we want to be able to put the movable runs in the van and bring our livestock with is when we relocate occasionally My main questions which I'm struggling to get accurate answers to is what happens if we ever get told to move our tiny house and later we go back to the same place? Can you actually get fined, or will it be ok if you just move to one of your other locations for a while?

I think your problem will be less about the 'tiny house' and more about the piece of agricultural land you intend to live upon . . . ie a piece of land with no rights for a residence, mobile or otherwise.

Still, travellers don't seem to worry about such things, so if you're really ok to move on when forced to by the local council then you'll probably be fine.  Just please don't leave piles of rubbish when you leave

It's not a caravan it's a comfy cottage on wheels Yes we will travel to visit friends and family often, but our small holding will be our main residence

That looks more like a glorified shed on wheels. Wood is heavy, have you checked the weight? What vehicle do you have to tow it? Good luck towing that to Scotland. 
The council planning department will be able to advise you on whether you would be permitted to use that on the plot they have chosen to buy.

It is extremely unlikely that you will be able to erect and live in such a structure without planning permission for residential use. It may depend on how long you occupy the land, visiting for a couple of weeks once a year may not be a problem but living there for months with occasional visits to friends in Scotland is unlikely to be allowed. The likelihood is you would not be fined on the first occasion but would be served notice to remove the structure and not return. If you did return the fine would be levied. Do you really want that type of lifestyle as you age, moving your home and livestock every few weeks?

 As missile says, email the local planning department they will be able to advise you far better than a group of random strangers on the internet.

Obviously I want to stay within the rules as all tiny house residents want to But it's hard to find exact allowances for exactly how long you can keep your tiny house in one place? Anyway how would they exact dates if you keep moving,mand the worst that could happen is get told to move on which we want o do anyway

I think as long as it's not a permanant structure you are allowed to live there for a few months per yeR in each location

 They could know the exact dates because others will tell them, this is very, very common. Perhaps it will be the person who sold the land at agricultural value or a neighbour. or someone who also wanted to buy the land but lost out. The worst that can happen is you are taken to court where you are fined and your caravan is destroyed.
Why haven't you phoned the local council? Could it be because you know your plans are not legal?
