They dispute that the operator has a valid contract with the landowner. The operator has provided a copy of a land registry document and a redacted copy of the contract it holds with the landowner. .
The Land Registry document doesn't mention the landowner's name anywhere.

Yes good point. I am also struggling to link the land owner Sheet Anchor Investments Ltd and Chambers property management.  Neither are anywhere near the land and they are not linked in anyway from what I can google. Makes no sense why chambers would even be involved 🤔

Wasn't there a recent case at court where the judge refused to accept redacted contracts as this mean the court couldn't decide as to what the contract actually offered/promised - and would this be something to hit POPLA with in the future - demanding the full contract in line with a court case - as it will need to be produced eventually?

    How's this for size?

Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

So in your case it sounds like SHEET ANCHOR INVESTMENTS own the land but a property management company, CHAMBERS run it for them. Pretty standard stuff, so far it's the same as my case on that front. There is no contract with the land owner.

I suspect that the centre is managed by London & Cambridge Properties Ltd on behalf of Sheet Anchor Investments based on their website;-

Vacant retail units are advertised on LCP's website;-

Chambers Property Care's website says they offer a full range of cleaning services and they also do property maintenance:-

So there is definAtely a defence point about landowner authority, because who are Chambers Property Care Ltd...?

Anyway no asking those questions yet.  Keep your powder dry.

London and Cambridge's reviews are interesting and suggest they have form. Not that it matters really since they're not technically involved here, at least on paper...

That seems to be it - my original prompt was here https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6175896/redactions-in-disclosure which links the case above
