Evening all
Paid stuff done, 12 hours almost, was hardly worth taking yesterday off lol, but I refuse to lose my annual leave!. Dailies done, supper cooked and eaten, DH washed up, wm x 1 run and on the airer. Heating engineer coming tomorrow morning to do boiler service, I will have to tidy the utility room and move the bins so he can get in there properly in the morning. I also have a meeting first thing so looks like an early start for me!
No other flying managed, will try to do better tomorrow. Take care all x9 -
Evening all
Dusted LR and Hallway
Just finished paid stuff for the day
Oh and I made a cake and washed up
DS3 wiped half of his desk
That's it for today, think I'll sort my seed packets into order of sowing and do one pack a day from tomorrowThe birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair9 -
Sorry I am a bit behind. Allie your post made me smile because it is very true, doing what you can every day really helps.
Pigpen hope you get something sorted for Squeak, it really sounds like she has got a rough deal.
I had a bit of a tantrum yesterday, I was up at 6.15am to put dinner in SC, empty DW and put washing on. 8 hours at the paid stuff, rushed around in my lunch break putting washing over airer and making the bed, then there was dinner to sort and clear up, the washing to shuffle, clean washing to put away and a bit of dusting and hoovering. Oh and the LR fire to clean out which I always do on a Monday because we dont light it during the week. It was about 8pm when I got finished and DH got the full onslaught of me feeling tired and unappreciated. He put the casserole in the SC this morning.
WFH tomorrow, Asd@ order coming, and I think I have two meetings. Yoga done, bedtime soon.9 -
Hugs to Fayolle
I have managed to munch 2 paperwork frogs. I tried another one as well, but the internet was playing up.
Dentist tomorrow afternoon. I have to confess to feeling a bit apprehensive. The dentist I saw last week seemed to be fresh out of dentist school! I will see how we get on with a filling, and take it from there. If I am not confident, I will ask for another dentist to do the complicated work!
I am going to watch Marcella now. Have a good night everyone.7 -
Evening all. I have achieved a few things today - certainly more than yesterday:
- found another family history record while I was eating my breakfast. I wasn't being antisocial - DH had taken himself off to SW online, so I was multi-tasking: sitting eating porridge all by myself and at the same time playing around on my K!nd1e )
- thoroughly dusted and hoovered all the upstairs rooms
- done WMx1 and hung some of it out for a while, but it was too cold and not windy enough to dry anything properly
- remembered that it is DGS4's birthday next week; pinged off an email to his dad asking what to get him, ordered the gift at midday, and received it at 8.45 this evening
- messaged a friend who is all of 29yo today
- took Rosie for her walk
- started writing up some work that needs to be ready for Friday
- cooked meals and made tea/coffee
I need my bed now. (((Hugs))) - especially to Fayolle, asb and YL - and spoons and sticks all round xxx8 -
bits and pieces as usual, after a WAC night during which I got up and gargled with salt water (sore throat and ulcers) and took a hot lemon (pounding head and feeling generally bleagh).
- read solar meter yesterday, pathetic, it must have been really dark this quarter!
- read all the paperwork on the new assessment guidelines. Emailed a few colleagues to see what they thought.
-moved drums into decluttered office which now looks.....a little less roomy. Heard that music college is back face to face next week so yippee only one more Zoom lesson and I'm back on proper drums for lessons.
- wrote and posted 2 cards (actually Mr N posted them on his way to have a blood test, c&c another drawer runner from W1ckes and a new duvet from Dunl1m. While waiting at the latter, a man strolled up and asked the assistant if he could wander round and browse. When she said sorry, no, he asked why is the shop not open????? er.......ever heard of a pandemic?)
- did a bit more in the kitchen, swept and mopped the floor
- hoed up enough weeds to make a space to sow my broad beans. Also sowed sweet peas. I had to do both those today and not procrastinate as I left them both soaking in water on Monday and I don't want broad bean soup...
- collected c&c from Mr T.
- now planning to sort a few photos otherwise I will feel terrible having put it off for another day.
Valli sounds like your turn for wildlife. We've seen no more voles, either naughty conservatory ones or nice outdoor ones.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.9 -
Morning all
WAC again... but I have things to get done this morning! Heating engineer coming so I need to clear the utility room for him to get at the boiler properly, also want to get my dailies done before my early meeting. Shouldn’t take long to get sorted... quick cuppa first though!
take care, have a good day x7 -
Another mouse evacuated last night ... it ran into DR so I slid door open and out it popped, hotly pursued by a certain cat. They are tiny... definitely not house mice. Had a dream that a rat got on my head. And I'm awake at work getting up time...Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Morning all
Hugs to you YL, I think we all know the feeling. I hope today is brighter for you xx
Better nights sleep, AF has rocked up though so it’ll be a black maxi skirt kinda day at work! I hate day one of AF, anyway sorry for tmi...
The DW needs to go on after breakfast; I’ve already let the hens out for their brekkie bless them. Heating is on, our statement was emailed to us yesterday I’ve had it on loads as the price of logs has rocketed round here and I’ve run out of free wood, but it’s been bitterly cold and this old house is badly insulated.
Today I am doing a paid for cleaning job after work for a friend (I must be mad); easy pasta and g bread for tea. Right, must shower, paint my face on and go to work have fab days all xx

Morning everyone.
Sorry to hear so many of you are having a bit too much life in your lives. Hugs, sticks and spoons to all of you.
Yesterday was a bitty day, took cat to the vet to have his teeth descalled and full blood tests, yes I'm with you HB in that it really isn't the right time financially but then can't be ignored. Went to pick up new composter from the council site, got told 2nd building on the right and it was on the left so time wasted looking in the wrong place, only a couple of minutes, then price had changed so I had to rewrite the cheque, but a reduction, even small, is always grateflly received. Home for a bit and pottered trying to get some stuff off the sewing table. Back to vet where what with queing, then seeing the vet, then paying etc took over an hour. Home via the chemist where there was another queue. Felt exhausted but frustrated as so little really got done. BUT
Today is a new day, so best get going
Tablets crushed for the cat for the next few days
Bed made, clothes picked up
DW on
Banking checked and spending spreadsheet updated, how long until the end of the month!
