Good end to the day yesterday - I made it to the evening Aqua class at the gym  o:) (I often book it then cancel because I've already got comfy for the evening - oops).

I also used up the last of the Christmas potatoes that were getting a bit 'sprouty' for mash that will do for a couple of meals, and made coleslaw. I know we need milk tomorrow, but hopefully nothing else until Sunday.

S&S ISA isn't having a good start to the year, but it's only a couple of days, so I really should just stop looking :s:D

I know, I need to restrict myself to only logging in on the days I have a transaction to complete -- I also know that chocolate and wine are bad for me ;)

  • The CC bill came in and was less than expected (but larger than I wanted!) so I did take the opportunity to put an extra £300 into the SIPP at a (small) bargin rate. I promise not to look now until I want to put some more in - probably early Feb, because I will pay myslf a Dry Jan bonus, and Feb and March are council tax free months.

And since the CC bill is in, I can start on my monthly spend analysis when I have time at the weekend. (resolution 1).

I haven't been anywhere to add to resolution 2 - new places in the local area - this week was just too grey and muddy until today, and today is a work day so I had to make do with frosty sun in our regular local woods.

In other good news, DD starts a new job on Monday, with a small but welcome payrise from the one she was doing before Christmas. We will have to have a conversation about paying 'keep' now that she is full time before she gets too carried away planning what to do with it!

I'd heard that about chocolate and wine :) funny thing.

Christmas baubles ... I have some lovely ones, fabric and all sorts - camels for the wise men, a polar bear decked with pretend Christmas lights balancing on a giant balloon, a Lancashire rose, all sorts of things.  I haven't had a tree the last few years, but I've got a big piece of jumbo corduroy that would make a great background, and I plan on doing a simple patchwork - I have half a dozen "ancestral" baubles that are small enough to go on there.  It will make a great wallhanging, the space a real tree takes up is more than I want to give away, sadly.

I've discovered the chocolate and wine thing is a hoax, KC ;)

Your patchwork hanging sounds lovely (I sadly have no skills in that direction).

The car has gone in this morning for a new cam belt (expected and planned for ), and investigation of a mystery noise (not planned for)- fingers crossed the unknown quantity isn't a big one.

The car is back, the garage think the noise is the tyre and it'll go away when we next need to change it (probably in a couple of months), but nothing to worry about :)Yah!
This time last year, MrC was looking at new and nearly new cars, now he's saying this one will do us another year :D

My deep delve into the CC bill (our monthly discretionary spening )was interesting, but won't mean a lot until I've a few more months to compare, so I'm holding off on reporting it!
