And my daily mortgage interest today is EXACTLY £8 :)

Of course tomorrow, it will be more because of the way NW do interest, but since my average for the year was over £9, that feels good!

First DD rearrangement done - SIPP up from £100 to £200 from the end of Dec. I'll bring down the ISA DD once it's gone out tomorrow to compensate. Finding it harder psychologically to lower the mortgage OP.

November investments were all up on Oct - but down on early November promise :( . Still, that's the market.

I'm pleased not to be on strike, just working to contract - Hahahaha! Still no idea what that looks like, or which of the targets that always take us over contract management won't beat us up over.

  • I've been a bit absent, but catching up on all the news now - and the shiny new diaries. I normally post on the 28th as that's the day the mortgage goes out , so these are the figures for 28/12, actually daily mortgage interest has been added, but investments have gone up since!
    • Mortgage: £116,753  £115,856

Total OP for the month was £444

    • OP Reserve (EF): £11,965 £12,430
    • S&S ISA: £5,620 £6,005
    • SIPP: £1,768 £2,043
I have other savings pots, and we have MrC's lump sum, but these are the two I think of as my MSE savings, becasue they are inspired by confidence I gained reading the forums, and are there to facilitate early retirement
    • Nectar points (Christmas treat fund) £105.18 all spent, back down to £6.95
    • Populus £15  £17 ( very slim pickings again this month)
Be back later with some New Year financial resolutions :)

  • So . . . Resolution no. 1

Work out where the money goes.

As I think I've said before, I tend to work in broad brush strokes with our budget, I have a rough idea where our overall monthly spend should be and don't worry too much as long as it doesn't exceed that expectation. This year I plan to delve down into the credit card bill to see where it goes.

Thanks all - I need you to hold me accountable (pun intended!).

Resolution 2 (shamlessly plagarised from someone else, possibly @Cheery_Daff?  I can't be bothered to look up the   proper Harvard format to cite a forum post or check where I read it - very undergraduate of me).

Getting around my locale - I live within a few miles of places people visit for holidays, and just don't make the most of it, so, at least once  (hopefully twice) a month, I plan to get out and about with the hounds, and/or the husband. We did a beach walk at West Wittering this week, if the weather turns cold and frosty the Sir Harold Hillier Arboritum is next on the list.
