No luck with PBs for me, just £25 for DH.I wasn't feeling very productive, Pup is a bit of a time sponge, but have managed to book the gas checks and sorted the house and contents quotes. The new insurance came in at £285 less than the renewal quote for better cover
. Annoyingly the new customer quote from the existing company was also £218 less - I thought the industry was supposed to be stopping the loyalty premium?
Still to sort out Pup insurance because the website was down, but he's covered by the breeder's policy for another two and a half weeks. And I've cut the rose branches I want to take out, but won't take them out until the weekend when I'll clearly be able to see which have wilted. It's a huge rose (Paul's Himalayan Musk), so it's a bit of an undertaking!2014 starting mortgage £165,0002015 second charge £20,000 - Jan 2021 paid off in fullCurrent outstanding balance - £115,8566 -
And another £1 in the Populus pot - only one more to cash out for £50

2023: the year I get to buy a car4 -
Morning All.Pup is now sleeping through the night - well until 5:30am, but I'm a lark, so I'm fine with that - and is turning into a proper little character. He also eats more than Doggo (for a few months at least) and I've been shocked how quickly what is usually a five week bag of food has disappeared
.
House insurance got better - I saved the quote and by the time I accepted it had gone down by £10 for the same start date. And, I finally made it to £50 on Populus (well, £51), so that payment will be going to the Mortgage as an extra OP along with £20 from joint account cashback. I decided on OP rather than ISA or pension from a largely emotional perspective, but it will also take next month's OP over £500, which will trigger a monthly payment recalculation. At work, I've agreed to give it another year before I accept VS, to see if recruitment (or other circumstances change), but I'm up from 0.8 to 0.9, which gives me one afternoon a week off and is better for both monthly income and pension.2014 starting mortgage £165,0002015 second charge £20,000 - Jan 2021 paid off in fullCurrent outstanding balance - £115,8569 -
@SandyShores now has me worried how quickly Christmas is approaching
- how can it be the middle of August already?
Nectar points (aka Christmas food extras) currently stands at £83.62, but DH has been building his balance too.The CC bill for July has come in (ouch) another spendy month because of theatre trips, visits to friends, and The Pup, but actually less than I expected and lower than our regular pre-pandemic spend, just not as low as I'd got used to. August will definitely be lower, the only non-regular spending I can think of is the annual gas service for the fire and boiler, and reapplying for my passport. Hopefully we will also be getting a refund for theatre tickets from 2020. We originally left the credit balance with the theatre thinking we would rebook, but there has been nothing on that we want to see for the Autumn, so I'd rather have it back for now.The end of the month will see the mortgage leave the 120ks and head into the teens (yah!), I want to see if I can speed it through the next 10k.2014 starting mortgage £165,0002015 second charge £20,000 - Jan 2021 paid off in fullCurrent outstanding balance - £115,8564 -

Your pup looks absolutely gorgeous and great progress on the OP.
Reading the robo vacuum discussion has finally persuaded me I NEED one - have a bit of birthday money but I definitely want one with a mop. But so many and some are the £800s? So not MSE. I am eyeing up a eufy one

Hi @LadyWithAPlan, just remember to make sure your robovac does the type of floors you have. Some are only suitable for one type (i.e. hard floors or carpet, and some don't cope well with shaggy carpet)"Think of many things, do one"
