Made lots of tomato sauce yesterday for the freezer, with the new academic year fast approaching, I need lots of easy food in. So far, veg lasagne, base tom sauce, cauliflower cheese stuffed potatoes, but I struggle with the defrosted texture of lots of veg foods - cannot get the carrots in veggie cottage pie right.

Chants: *I must not buy a robot vacuum cleaner, I must not buy a robot vacuum cleaner, I must not buy a robot vacuum cleaner"... but then thinks *ooh, I do need a mop, a steam mop might be good!*
My chanting of that led me to getting an absolute bargain on a robo vac yesterday. I am so excited and vacuumed and mopped ahead of his arrival.
Full details on my journal but a friend recommended a robot vacuum and mop that he loves. Was £200 but now £110 with an extra £10 off current voucher on Amazon plus I used the Amazon current get £6 free if you move £50 to a gift card. So £94!
Will report back on how he has changed my life 😊
DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Laughing at you lot and your robot vacs! 😂I'd almost be tempted myself with the way you're all raving on, but we have so much clutter and so many steps I'd be moving it up and down steps all the time 😂
Excellent idea to batch cook before the new academic year. I'd say I'd attempt something similar but in reality I know that right now it's just not going to happen. Great idea though!5 -
I definitely won't be getting one Cheery, don't worry - our new living room is split level and I think there are quite a few random steps in the house, so not much use, except for the entertainment value of watching the cats watching it!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

However much I love the idea of not having to deal with the floors, it will remain a dream as our so-called ground floor is on 4 different levels, so a robovac would not be practical.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

I obviously have a faulty cat - she took one look at Vaccy, roled her eyes and went back to sleepI gave DD a lesson in being a MSE yesterday. She is currently redesigning her room and had set aside a plant budget (I encourage the plants because it's brilliant for her mental health to be taking care of something), we did B&Q for a 'statement plant' then specialist nursery for more unusual small plants in starter pots. She was SOOOO chuffed that the Dracenia in B&Q was £20 cheaper than the nursery and about a third bigger, but she got three unusual ferns for £2.99 each there. (I also got a good Christmas idea, I think she'd love an indoor water feature). In pup news, after his second vac (we are a well vaccinated family - all double dosed now
) only a week before he can go out - first puppy class is next Tuesday. But we need to teach him to love Mr C more - at the moment he is a complete momma's boy, but from Sept, I'll be around much less.
