Looking at your meters - the gas has an installed date of 21/6/19 - I assume electric is the same.

    Gas is coming out at 19000 m3/year (that's high) and cost nearly £600/year; electric 4200 kWh / year  - that's another £650.  That's over £100  a month.

Your bill is AVRO playing catch-up compounded by estimated readings.
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill

Those readings today don't seem too far off one set of the Avro estimates. Gas reading is 2806 vs  2538E and the electricity 6906 vs 7033E.  In the right ballpark, and seem to correspond to your meters in place.

The biggest question here is where the second set of readings are coming from?  It raised my suspicions seeing two sets of readings for gas as this would be very unusual.  It's less unusual for electricity due to economy 7, but you say you don't have that.

Could it be that Avro are mistakenly billing for a second set of meters that don't exist?  A c*ock up when smart meters were installed?  There should be a label near your meters that show the final reading on the old meter and the opening reading of the new meter (0).

Only the gas meter has any previous details of the last meter on it . That is shown in the pic. The elec has nothing on it all about previous meter.  The blanked out area in the eletric meter   pic is installation and property details  from  when previous owners installed a log burner  .  2 meters does sound possible.  If only AVRO would reply  grrrr

Ahh yes I see that now.

So the old gas meter closing reading was 20481.  And Avro's estimated reading for the "second" gas meter on your January bill was 23137.3

It looks to me suspiciously like Avro are perhaps billing for both your old and your new meters.  Very strange.  You need to also have a look at your last bills for your previous supplier to see if they were doing it too before your switch to Avro.  Also, have another look around the meter cupboard to see anywhere if there's the final reading for the old electric meter. There should be one.  That would help you with proof as you could send that evidence for both gas and electricity to Avro.

At this point I wouldn't be waiting for Avro to email back and get on the phone to them.  Ignore the warning about emergency only, there is people there to answer the phones.

As you say, 19000 kWh for gas would be £499.95 annually on the OP's tariff.  And 4200 kWh electricity £612.37 giving a total £1112.32 or £92.70 a month.  The OP's DD is £83.45 so whilst the account would be in debit based on the DD being slightly too low, and it being  the end of the winter, I can't see it being £600 when he's been with Avro less than a year.

It appears that this is more than just a catch up bill, there's something going on with those double meter indexes.  I've now idea how or even if it would be possible but could they still be billing for meters that were removed?

Can see from the OP's latest uploads they are definitely billing for 2 electricity meter serials.  Gas only gives one meter serial, but the bill clearly has two sets of readings, which the OP's meter wouldn't give, and Avro's estimated readings correspond to the old meter's closing reading.

It certainly would be high, corresponding to 211,573kWh and costing £4743 !
