What a great thing to do LMD, and of course a great thing to be able to do as a result of all the hard work you have put in.
Brave of your family member to raise the subject too, as many people are too proud to admit they’re struggling.

I like to think I’m a person who would never judge, and will always try to help, whether it’s suggestions or advice. This time was able to help in a more practical sense.

I didn’t do it for the thanks. I did it because I was able to, and can make a difference in someone’s life.  Same reason I give to charity I suppose.

  • Morning all - I am feeling very tired today as I didn't sleep well at all... wide awake at 4.50am and that was it. I will be napping after work today!

PADs counted and £1 sent to CC7, I was tempted to send more, but I have to get through the weekend before I get paid on Monday so I may need it.  Today will be another NSD though, and tomorrow should be too as I am only going out for a blood test at the doctors. ( :(

Following @Keedie's advice, I have changed my Monzo 'sealed pot' and 'car' pots so that they are interest gaining savings accounts. This means I can't access it immediately, I need to request the day before it's needed but I like the prospect of earning some interest on my money especially as I have no plans for it until Oct/Dec.

I already have laundry on the line, it's so warm outside! I'm washing the cushion covers from the bed today, probably get the lounge ones done this afternoon too :) Think it's forecast rain from tomorrow so trying to get ahead.

    Enjoy your Thursday everyone

Glad you used the interest accruing pots. It makes sense, and it's so easy to set up. I think the delay in getting to your money also makes you think about whether or not you really need to spend. I sometimes have impulse control issues when it comes to spending, so having a blockade helps. But you seem quite disciplined, so not likely to suffer from the same affliction 😂.

  • It’s taken a looooong time to become disciplined like this. And at one point I definitely took it too far to punish myself and needed to have a word with myself. I only really buy what’s necessary now, like the replacement pants last week :D

I'm looking forward to getting to that stage. This week has taught me that I can have bouts of discipline and that I just need to maintain it. I hear that about the punishment side of things, as sometimes I can get super restrictive to make things difficult so that I feel the consequences of my actions/spending. I think it's also a journey in self love to be able to draw a line in the sand and to want and do better for your future self without punishing that version of you, for what the past version of yourself has done.

  • Good morning and happy Friday!  I have a medial appointment this afternoon and need to take some meds which make me a little lucid so I am updating before I have to take the first one :)

There's actually not much to report, I am still 3 days away from pay day and I was hoping my wage slip would be on the portal but it's not. It usually goes on the day before so I am assuming they still upload over a weekend and it won't be there until Sunday.

Made a £1 PAD to CC7 this morning and did my counter-upper duties.  Today will be another NSD as due to the meds I can't drive and due to the appointment I need to cram work in before I go so it's a busy day for me.

My sister is coming to take me to my appointment due to hubby being away and she has decided to stay for the weekend which will be nice. I am predicting that Sat and Sun won't be NSD as we will probably go to lunch or do a spot of shopping in town. Perhaps both.  I am on annual leave on Monday and I've said I will go with her to bingo again, it was fun last time.

That's all from me... Balances are pretty much where they were on my last update, with the exception of a few bills and my EF and I have some in my spends account to cover the weekend ahead. All remainder will be put to EF on pay day.

    Have a lovely day guys
