And just like that, I have managed to spot the perfect gift for someone for Christmas. So it appears I started my Christmas shopping today.Life gets in the way...PADding is addictive...Saving's better than spending...My savings diary - Now for a healthier, wealthier me2025 1p challenge #41 | Cash envelope challenge #01 | SPC #017Sealed pot 2025 £4931 | EF £669/£1000 | Sabbatical £3026/£3000 | Travel savings £1791 | Sinking pots £19611

Happy weekend
I was out for a birthday celebration last night, but only spent £30 so I don't deem that too bad for dinner and drinks. A good time was had by all and I'm not feeling too groggy today so that's a win
Been PADding as usual, CC6 is almost gone now, only £19.61 left before it's cleared. OH has also just moved his card balance to a 0% interest deal so at the moment neither of us are paying any interest on what we owe (aside from the mortgage, but I don't think you can get those on interest free haha!)
Still work being done on the house but we are plodding on and starting to see a difference, not much left to do but as long as we take it steady we will neither burn ourselves out or run out of funds. I have to go and do the grocery shopping today so it won't be a NSD, but hoping for one tomorrow as I have no plans at all.
Looking forward to holiday next month, I still don't have my head around what I need to do in terms of PCR tests but I will try and do some research tomorrow.
Hope everyone's well and taking care of themselves

Today is a NSD for me, which is needed as I got 2 more Christmas presents yesterday and I have also started making a list of other things to get family and friends.
Just my PAD to CC6 though, which should be gone in 3-4 days time (Whoop!). Today is a busy day working from home, there seems to be an awful lot to do and not enough time in the day at the moment. It's easy to feel like doing 'a few more hours' when you're at home but I am trying to stick to my contracted hours as much as possible, otherwise you end up making a rod for your own back which has happened to me before...
No plans for the rest of the fiscal month so I am hoping that I'll have some money left by pay day.

You really are getting those balances down. Well done.
Not keen on our bigger mortgage payment either but I do like seeing the big decrease in mortgage balance at the start of every month 😃
No heating on here yet. It is at times like these that new builds have big advantages. The house is still toasty warm despite the gloomy wet and cooler weather outside. The couple of years we have been here the heating hasn't been on until mid November ish.1 -
Hi @RelievedSheff, thanks for popping in. I must admit that this house is much warmer than our old house as it's a fairly new build and I only had to pop the heating on that one day and only for a few hours, it's been off since.
I know the bigger mortgage payments are going to benefit us in the long run, this house has a lot more potential equity so we will be more 'asset rich' once it's paid.
I've cleared CC6 with this morning's PAD and I'm so happy! Next target is CC4 which is the next to run out of 0% period. I do feel a bit brassic this month having moved a lot over to EF. The only bit I've moved back is to cover the early Christmas present purchases.
I'm hoping that'll be the last of the Christmas buying for September.

No more presents bought, I do need new glasses though so that'll be something I can't avoid. Only a week to go before pay day though and 2 weeks until holiday. My EF money will be used for our holiday spends and whatever we don't use I will put back in and start building on it again. We are only going self-catering so most will be spent on meals.
My credit scores on some companies has started to increase again, which I'm relieved about. Hopefully, with the significant reduction of the unsecured debt it will be the best it's ever been.
Meeting some friends later for a coffee so today will not be a NSD but any spending will be relatively low

Wow, it'a s long time since I last updated but there's not been much going on. Still working from home, saving for my holiday (which starts today Yay!) and making my daily PADs which are now aimed at CC4.
Checked my experian report this month (I only have the free one) but it says I have no cards, no loans and no mortgages against my name... Not sure if there's a glitch in the matrix but something is definitely not right. You can't speak to anyone unless you're a paid subscriber so I will see what it says next month before I panic...
As we are away in the sunshine from today I am not sure whether I will be able to make my daily PADs, might have to pick that up when I get back home. Depends on signal and free time I guess. Still apprehensive about the airport and restrictions but we will face them head on to get some much needed R&R time

So, back home with a bump this weekend, back to the cold and work. I have so much to catch up on and it already feels like I've not been away. The sand between my toes is a distant memory (sniff
)
However, the up-side is that we didn't spend as much money as we had budgeted for so I have been able to send the extra to CC4 this morning - £110! Yay
This takes my total outstanding debt to less that £14.5k now, I just keep marvelling at how far I have come in the past 18 months, even though I still have a long way to go, it feels so good.
The biggest difference for me is the impact it's had on both my mental health and my ability to sleep well. I know debt and mental health are linked, but because I haven't been behind on payments or struggled to meet my minimums I never really thought it was impacting me. I guess it was the sheer amount I owed that was playing on my mind.
I hope everyone's doing OK? I'm off to add the next load of laundry now - a definite downside of holidays... perhaps the naturists have got it right!
Keep smiling

Good morning and 'Happy Friday' to all
Although it's cold still I am enjoying the lovely bright sunshine today, had to get wrapped up to take the pooch for a walk.
Still making my daily PADs, the impact this is having on CC4 balance is brilliant and I'm so glad I started doing it again. Quite often the PAD's over a week can cover the contractual minimum payment, so anything after that is a bonus
I have still been checking my credit scores and my clearscore one has taken a big jump up by 67 points this week, to category 'soaring high' which makes me very happy - I still don't know why it bothers me so much because it's not the deciding factor for credit but I can't help it hahaha.
The one thing that has 'irked' me this week is my Zipzero account. It's a receipt snapping app where you can earn cash to pay towards bills. Earlier this year I arranged a payment to gas and electric (about £40) but it took so long to process we had completed on the house move and I had to contact them to stop the payment which they did. So, now there's about £72 in there and all of a sudden the app needs updating, but it's no longer available in the UK!! So I think I have lost it all.
I know it's technically 'free money' but it does make me sad that it's gone. I will do some digging and see what I can find.
Anyway, I hope everyone has a lovely day, it's date night with hubby tonight so it will be nice to get dressed up for a change. Only off to the pub for some dinner and a few drinks but when you work from home, that's a bonus!

That’s so frustrating with zipzero, I hope you get it back.
