P/fc been bad again today for me. Only one popped up, but I couldn't manage to get it, even though it still had 69 places left. Got over £8 waiting to approve and only need another 3 SB points to cash out, which I should do tomorrow, but they take forever to arrive in PP account. Qm/e is still giving me approx £1 a day, sometimes more, although yesterday I couldn't get one at all on there, so lost my run of 10% bonus on each study.
I must admit c-cats and Qmee were so frustratingly low and I kept getting screened out late so I’ve all but given up on them. I really should try and do some more
Well done on breaking the £4k barrier, that's a lovely new debt free date you have there as well! Keep up the hard work!!

£30,022.05 debt - Completed it mate! Debt Free 27th June 2023 | Diary

  • Good morning peeps. It's another very windy day in S. Yorks! I woke up when OH left for work and the wind didn't really let me get back to sleep, I ended up reading for a while as it was nice and toasty under the duvet.  He starts earlier in his new job and gets up at 4:15.

OH made a valid point about our joint account in that he gets paid 4 weekly and I get paid monthly plus we have some annual and 6 monthly bills coming out so we have decided to each put a buffer in there in case some of the dates aren't working out for the bills. We don't want to use the overdraft or leave ourselves short. I'm using the remainder of my EF for my bit. Once I am debt free it will be the first thing I build back up from savings. Plus, we still have some in the house EF.

Today's PAD was £1 to CC7, nothing available in Prolific and it was another slow day for surveys yesterday. Today will be another NSD for me too. Making a total of 17 in January which was good considering that we were on holiday.

I don't actually have any plans to spend until Saturday so I should get a good start to Feb too. I will be going to the gym but that's about it. Now that I am on my last stretch to debt freedom I seem to be wishing myself from pay day to pay day... I know it's not the right thing to do, but the closer it gets the more focussed I am on it and it's all I'm thinking about.

Sorry for waffling on, think it's the lack of sleep!

Thanks, it feels like the debt payments have really gained momentum in the last few months. This month and next month I have budgeted to pay £1k per month off the card (I've already paid the first £500 for Jan pay day) and then as much extra as I can make from surveys will be paid on top of that along with my £1 a day PADs.

I don't usually have any issue going back to sleep after he gets up but the wind is just awful at the moment. It's due to be twice as fast again overnight too.  Might have to dig out the ear plugs!

Having a buffer account sounds like a great idea and it's so nice to see that your debt free date is coming so close. I'm a bit obsessed with checking and recalculating my finances so I can imagine how excited and desperate I'll get when I'm as close to finish line as you are. Hope you manage to get some solid sleep tonight and won't be too tired.x

  • Thanks Keedie and I agree it's a good idea, it surprised me to be honest as it's usually me obsessing over the figures rather than him. Lol... Maybe my ways are rubbing off since I persuaded him to do the balance transfer.

In other news (or lack thereof) not one survey today #disappointed

It seems like the balance transfer has opened his eyes to a different way of doing things and he can see the wood from the trees so to speak. And that means that he's able to visualise better financial security and wants to hold onto that feeling...?? However he got there, it's cool that you can put your heads together and you'll be able to build your emergency fund up in no time once you're debt free.

My surveys have dried up and I just run out of steam. CCats and Qmee are a bit hit and miss at times, and I've been on Prolific's waiting list since June 2022.

Prolific had nothing for me  today either LMD. Never mind, you’re still right on track to be debt free before the Summer. Hope you get some better sleep tonight

  • Morning all, Wednesday is upon us already. I swear the older I get the faster time goes by... The wind was still relentless last night and today we have to put the cardboard bins out for collection tomorrow - that's going to be rather interesting!

Today is 1st of the month so it's Direct Debit day. PAD was £1037 to various places but it included £7 to CC7 and £5 to the sealed pot. Today will be a NSD, the first one for February.

I have lots of meetings in at work today which started early doors so I probably won't get to do any surveys. Hubby is out this evening though so I may be able to have a look then though.

Hope everyone has a good day
