  • Hi everyone, I'm back at home and will be putting up the decorations for Christmas today. Back at work tomorrow for a short week and then next week I am only working 2 days :)

It has been a very expensive few days with a lot of mis-haps to boot. First there was the windscreen on the car, meaning we had to go in the van and make additional parking arrangements last minute, it was such a stressful departure.  Then, when we parked in Glasgow, we went to get the luggage out the back and realised we had left the suit bag with his suit and my dresses in the hallway.  I could have wept! But I was determined it wasn't going to ruin our weekend and Thursday was late night opening for the shops so I'm afraid the EF took a little more of a hit and I replaced our clothes before we headed out for dinner.  What an absolute farce!

Anyway, today will be a NSD for me, number 7 for December so far.  My PAD was £2 to CC7 this morning and I am going to look at what I have coming up between now and Xmas in terms of spending.  I don't have very many plans so I'm considering doing a cash budget for what's left and see how that impacts my spending over the next 2 weeks.  I will give it a bit more thought today and then I can get cash out tomorrow if that's what I decide.

That's it from me this morning... now, pass me the tinsel! :D

  • So, the house is now looking festive and I can relax a bit before prepping this evening's dinner.  I still have to do outside but I need hubby to help with that so that will be Wednesday when he's off work.

Today has been a really good day for Prolific studies and I have done 7 already today. I've also just been able to cash out £7 so I have sent that over to CC7 and it's creeping ever closer to that £5k mark.  My budgeted payment from December wages is £350 so I will definitely go into the new year with my outstanding debt under £5k

My next job for the day is snapping all the receipts from the weekend.... but I'm going to make a brew and stare at the pretty tree for a bit first!

Whilst it’s very annoying to have left your. Loathes at home LMD at least the money wasn’t totally wasted as you got new outfits.
I remember being quite pleased with myself for tidying Mrs Mac’s close into the wardrobe once, not realising it was her going out clothes for an evening away. She likes to remind me about if from time to time but she did get a new outfit out of it - Still very annoying though!
Good work on Prolific. I’m impressed with them too although some of the questions seem to be almost the same question asked slightly differently which I find a bit strange.

With Prolific, I think some of them use repeated questions to check whether people are paying attention. Others use a specific attention check with an instruction.

To be honest, I don't mind having to buy the clothes as we haven't really been spending on ourselves lately and at least it didn't have to go on a credit card. :)

You have just reminded me again that I still haven't registered with the receipt scanning sites. That's a job for tonight. x

  • Good morning everyone, I hope you are all doing well?  Hubby is under the weather this morning and has had to take the day off work... He is currently doing a Covid test to see if it's that - I am hoping it isn't but we will see in about 30 mins. :(

Today we have a delivery coming and I am therefore not going out. So today will be a NSD for me, no8 for December so far which feels behind as I have been front loading the months.

My PAD today was £11 as I cashed out £10 from Prolific this morning. I still have £7.50 in there pending and as usual, I will keep me eye out for studies throughout the day.

Looking at my spreadsheet and the payments I have planned, it's highly likely my DFD is now going to be the end of May rather than June. But I will wait until that last payment is below £500 before I formally change my date as anything can happen, as we have seen from the past week :D

Right, I'm off for a second coffee to psyche myself up to logging on to email carnage from being off!
Take care everyone and stay warm

Wow! Go you! Properly knocking down your debt free - I was hoping for June but I'm not convinced at the moment 😂 but it keeps coming down with every payment ☺️

I wasn’t well last week, full of cold and had a very faint line on the COVID test. A week later I’m fine, there’s definitely something going around.

Fabulous news you’ll be debt free sooner than you thought.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • It's showing negative so it must just be a bug going around. It's strange how we all seem to forget that before the pandemic we just used to get poorly, especially at this time of year :D
    Glad you're feeling better x

  • Hope Mr LMD feels better soon. I did read that this new variant can evade the LFT tests and some people test negative and yet if they do a PCR test, it often comes back positive. I've heard of a few people having that experience.
Hope you get a few surveys today. I found it slow yesterday, but I did have quite a bit suddenly approved on P/fc
