  • Morning! I have checked Prolific first thing and can't cash out yet, will probably spend some time on other sites today to see if I can build some balances there... I am enjoying the challenge of seeing how much extra 'free' money I can make.  I can't believe how quickly this last £80-ish has cleared from my card, it seems like just a few days ago I was willing myself to break the £6k barrier!

PAD today was £6 to CC7 which covers my minimum payment in full now. Anything extra over the next 2 weeks will be a bonus :)  Today will not be a NSD, I have to pick some bits up in town but it should be a low spend and certainly not any frivolous spending this close to Christmas.

Right, I'm off to walk the dog and hoping it doesn't rain on me :D

  • Hello everyone, I hope you're all doing well and having a good weekend.  Yesterday would have been a low spends day but I treated myself to new earrings so the total spend for yesterday was £30.  Back before I started this diary, I wouldn't have batted an eyelid if there was an extra zero on the end of that so I have definitely gained new spending habits throughout this journey.

Still nothing to cash out on Prolific, but I sent £6 to CC7 this morning as my PAD.  Today should be a NSD for me but will declare later on just in case I see a Christmas present for someone. There are too many temptations everywhere at the moment, both in-store and online!

Nothing else to report, CC7 is coming down faster than I had predicted so I am pleased about that. It's still my main focus.

  • Today turned out to be a NSD for me so I have sent £10 to CC7 this evening. Still nothing to cash out on Prolific but I have £10 pending so I'm eager for that to clear.  I've had a nice relaxing weekend, but back to the grindstone tomorrow and a couple of spendy days ahead with lunch plans with different sets of friends which I am really looking forward to. The rest of the week will be really quiet in comparison and so far I have no plans for the next weekend.

Catch you all in the morning

Just wiped the rest of it with £8 PAD to CC7 taking my balance to £5900, the accounts are really healthy at the moment, this is due to using the SPC funds to get the Christmas presents and usually I would buy many from my regular salary payments.  Things will slow down as we get closer to Christmas I am sure.

As it stands, I have 255 days until debt freedom (inwardly cheers) 11 days to pay day because 27th is on a Sunday this month, not sure what is happening with the NI payments these days so I am just going to see what I get on the day.  Hopefully the banking switch bonus will hit before 10th December which will cover the Christmas day food and drinks.

My EF is still intact and I have my holiday spending money in a separate pot for our January holiday.  I can't remember ever feeling as 'in control' of my finances before! It's a great feeling already so in 255 days time I'm likely to lose my mind!  :#

I have made the decision to re-join a gym now that my health-scare is less of a worry.  There is a corporate discount for a local chain of gyms which have pools and I do like a swim. They also have classes. I know signing up to a new monthly commitment isn't very MSE but I do think it will benefit me both from a physical and mental perspective.

    Have a good Monday everyone

It’s all going well LMD but don’t forget “Eyes on the prize” and “Feet on the ground” which of course you already know.  Clearing debts is very much about forming good habits and you’ve clearly done that now.
Good luck to you as the gym membership is something you can now afford, just make sure you use it. Another good habit to form.

The other half had his first weeks wage with the "new" NI contributions last week. Made a whole £5 difference  :D

Mind you that might all be reversed again come Thursday!!

We are on the ball with the Christmas present buying this year. Got most of them, only need to pick up a few cheap bits and bobs now. Got some of them wrapped. I might have another wrapping session one night this week.

Most of our Christmas food is in the freezer already.

Like you. It feels good to be and feel in control.

I'm counting down those 255 days for you.
  • I think the gym will do you good. Exercise is so important for mental & physical well being.

  • Thanks guys. I really do appreciate all the support you give me on here, more than you probably realise. I don't really have any conversations about my finances with anyone else, hubby isn't really bothered when I update him other than he's surprised at how much I have cleared since we applied for the mortgage.

A lunchtime check of Prolific allowed a £5 cash out so I have sent that to CC7 just now. There's still £8 pending so I will be checking that in the morning.
