Hi everyone, I hope everyone's having a good week?

@AntoMac; I am definitely always expecting the worst! It's in my nature, but then anything better is a bonus :)

Today I was able to cash out £13 from Prolific (and did 2 more early morning studies) so I sent £14 to CC7. That final June payment is coming down now and once it gets below £500 I will officially move my DFD to 27th June instead of July. It's staying where it is for now.

Today will not be a NSD as I need to arrange some flowers for a friends birthday, but I should be back on track tomorrow.  Jobs today include laundry and tidying the garden. I also need to finish my Christmas card list and plan and book my annual leave for the rest of the year. That can be a lunchtime task!

Hoping to get some more good studies today, I still have £4.11 pending so I definitely need to do some more before I can cash out. Fingers crossed!

In terms of my finances, I am still feeling in a good place. There are 25 days to pay day and before today's spending my budget allows £20 a day available.  Clearly as I start to buy Christmas gifts and book get togethers and activities this will diminish but it's encouraging for now. Today's spending will exceed this amount for example.

266 days to debt freedom and counting! :)

  • Cashed another £1 out from C-Cats this evening and that's been sent to the CC.  I should really save them up and cash out once a week given that they are small amounts, but it's that impatience again :D

Finally got my details through to set up my account on the first direct app and I've transferred the last of my sealed pot money over. This is more than the £1k needed and therefore once I have 'switched' next Weds I should get the switching bonus within 28 days.  Not sure what to do with this yet. My instinct is to throw it at the CC but there's something in the back of my head which is thinking I should use it for the Christmas groceries as we are hosting this year.  The cost of food just keeps spiralling so we will need extra to cover the cost of Christmas food.

I guess I have time yet to think about it.  To be fair, the surveys are really making a dent in the card balance. On the other hand, if we need extra for Christmas I always have the EF. It's a fortunate position to be in and I am grateful that I have these options as many others don't!

Enough of my ramblings, have a good evening peeps!

Did you have to switch your bank account to get the FD deal or just pay money in? I think you should keep the bonus to one side until you decide what to do.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • Hi @Sun_Addict, I switched my main 'spends' account which has some DDs set up.  To get the deal, you have to switch your account and then pay in £1k within 3 months. Once you've done both of those the bonus is paid within 28 days.  I saw it on Martin's show and realised it's basically free money and because I'm not switching my main account (Nationwide Flexplus) then I would still benefit from my paid bank account benefits.

I agree that I should save it for now.

  • Morning guys. I hope you're all doing OK?

Just a quick update this morning as I am stacked for work and in back to back meetings from 8:15 this morning. Oh the joys! Anyway, PAD was £9 to CC7 this morning, bring me even closer to the £6k mark... not long to go now! I still have £10+ waiting to become available on Prolific.

Today will be a NSD too :)

I would save the money as well. Christmas food can be expensive.

We have started buying the Christmas food in already. Our butcher has already said that his prices are going up this month and again next month so we thought we may as well get the stuff in before it goes up. We have plenty of freezer space for it.

We have the turkey crown already and some beautiful pigs in blankets. Got the nice bacon and black pudding and some fantastic scallops for starters.. Just need to get a gammon joint and some nice sausages which are on this weeks list when we head to the farm shop to pick up our half pig this weekend.

The fresh veg we will pick up from the farm shop a few days before Christmas weekend.
  • Yeah I think you're right RS, and I don't want to feel like we are having to scrimp as hosts for this year.

Popped back with a quick update that I have cashed out £5 from Prolific and sent it to CC7

  • Hello everyone and happy Friday, the sun has made an appearance here in Yorkshire and I am hopeful this will be a sign for my appointment later this morning.

My PAD this morning was £10 to CC7, taking me to £6000 outstanding. I have £5+ waiting to be approved in Prolific but yesterday wasn't busy with studies and I am unlikely to do any today as I won't be at my computer. Today won't be a NSD due to hospital parking charges but that should be my only spend (low spend day) Probably won't get another NSD until Sunday now.

In good news, my Christmas planning is pretty much done, I need to get some Christmas cards so I can write these in November ready to post on 1st December.  I know who is left to buy for and kind of know what to get them.  Feeling quite good about being organised :)

Hope you all have a good day
