Do the mobile phone companies come under OFTEL ?I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -
Otelo have a marvelous case against Vodafone
Having myself had a 100% case against VF filed with Otelo, sadly life in telecoms is not that easy. Please don't depend on Otelo, that's advice from my own personal experience.
Otelo totaly ignored my main complaint and dealt with the customer sevice angle, something that was never mentioned in my complaint. Even when I asked for a review taking into account the main problem it was refused. I was later to find that sitting on the Otelo board is a member of VF, I often wondered whether this had anything to do with it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
Try the Trading Standards Office for advice, then Consumer Direct. Failing that take advice from the CAB and look into taking a claim via the small claims court. If you have £100 ( a lot of dosh..but ) to spare then talk to a solicitor for advice.
I had a similar problem, VF just totaly ignored all my letters, e-mails & calls.
Good Luck I hope things work out.
For Duchy,
Telecoms companies come under both Otelo & Cisas, Oftel is now defunct0 -
Unless they think the referrals didn't come from you somehow ? They might think someone else was using your info or that you were letting other people use your referral info, but it's hard to see how they could do that ?
I would suggest that you call em back and ask to speak to a teamleader as they 'should' be able to call the fraud team and find out whats going on.
Fraud teams aren't 'customer facing' (which is a terrible term, I hate it) as they tend to have very few staff and STACKS of work...
I treid for over 1 hour to speak to a team leader and they said due to the call volume this was not possible, I said i would wait but to no avail, they just fobbed me off.
I put the point that what is more important than the customer who is on the phone right now and who has been accused of fraud?Money saving newbie but learning fast:D0 -

Its probably a case of their fraud department are carrying out security checks to establish everything is ok
This doesnt mean their accusing you of fraud, its simply a case that their fraud department have responsibility for carrying out these checks
The amount of scams and frauds that do go on its not unreasonable they look into such cases
Give them time to look into it, if they still refuse fair enough but at this stage Id wait to see what they have to say officially rather than some retard on the phone
No mate, they customer service guy read out my notes and it said I have committed fraud so do not speak to me!!!
I was raging when he toild me this, but he said to me that I could not possibly have committed the fraud as they offered me the deal and also confirmed my refer a friends are valid:mad:
Calmed down for now though:DMoney saving newbie but learning fast:D0 -

Fraud is a very serious accusation with far reaching consequences. In the financial world it's a bit like saying that you're a rapist!
Your contract is void. It's fraudelent. Vodafone wouldn't collect on a fraudulent contract now surely, would they....
Yet they are still honouring the 15 month half price part of the contract

Never got my tuesday call back (no suprise there)
Got a helpful lassie when I phoned last night, she has emailed the guy who put the comments on my account asking for an explination and also for him to phone me back.
Funny how the previous call I was told that they cant tell who puts a comment onto there computer system.
I have now emailed they correct department stating that I am not happy and the reasons why, I have also asked for a copy of my notes so that I can go down a legal avenue if need be.
Just need to see what happens now.Money saving newbie but learning fast:D0 -

Hi Marky_b,
I have been watching your postings with great interest. I had been in dispute with VF early in the year, the upshot was that they denied all that they had said to me, logs were cleared so that there was no records of calls or conversations. They just lied their way out of it. The so called 'Regulator' was no help. VF will rarely put anything in writing except for its standard replies. Now when dealing with problem companies I record the calls, it's sad I agree, but you have to protect yourself.
Good Luck.0 -

I have been thinking of recording calls as well
Hopefully what I have on my side here is that I have emails from them confirming my deals in writing, some of the others on here who referred others didn't get it in writing, so maybe I have a wee bit of ammo against them.Money saving newbie but learning fast:D0 -

You cant record calls without their prior permission
As for the thread, again I think its a retard in the call centre who doesnt understand the comments
I very much doubt they are accusing you of fraud, simply its an issue their fraud department deal with0 -
