Mrs_Cheshire said:t14cy_t said:morning all. spent a total of £24.58 in morrisons yesterday. i was so lucky again, the reducing was being done on the meat and meat substitutes!! so came away with £127 worth of yellow stickered goodies. my freezers and fridge are groaning!! best buys were organic chicken breasts were £5.95 down to 50p!! just under £50 spent so far this month. not shopping again until next week. good luck all. xx
I had 3 spends yesterday, £20 at the wholesale past best before warehouse (mostly sweet treats and some squash), £35.05 in Ald! (milk, yogurts, cheese, some fruit, juice, fizzy, bin bags, fabric softener, pesto, noddles, coffee sachets, some noddle pots, cup pasta) and £7 for my afforable grocery collection (loads of sausages this week, as well as double cream, a huge squirty cream, chocolate milkshakes, fruit & veg, potatoes, eggs, box of cereal, rice, few snacks for the kids).
We also sorted our tins storage yesterday, got about 15 tins of soup so will be using some of that up over the next few weeks.
Does anyone have any unusual ways with sausages, other than with mash, chips, toad in the hole, in pasta dshes or for a cooked breakfast or in a sandwich?
I frequently cook this Sausage and Lentil Casserole. It’s really good if you have scored some really boring sausages in your YS haul. You know the ones I mean: virtually no texture to them and pretty tasteless. It’ll mask them beautifully. It’s lovely with really nice, meaty sausages, too, but I save them for breakfast. (Note: the recipe suggests cutting the sausages into thirds, before frying. If they’re really cheap ones, cutting them in half works better. Otherwise, they fall apart.)

£96.25 total March spend to date, I did spend on a few treat bits (chocolate, crisps etc) this time as nice to have something for the weekend if I fancy it. Stocked up on a few tins of staples. Only £23.75 to go (!) in what seems a long month to me.

I've been bad about updating, just realised its nearly the second shopping day of the month and I haven't declared last weeks spends yet. Total of £51.34 for us, we didn't need much fresh stuff so mrporridge just got the bits we needed at MrL*dl. Had a spend on cat food though at £103 although this comes out of my new bulk fund. Its for about 320 pouches so as MrPorridge says should last about 2 weeks
Hopefully about three months.
