Who else should pay for the energy you have used ?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0

I think you're completely missing the point.free_money_tree said:
Really! and why would they not continue with current tarrif if they willfully knew there where smart readings availbeBG have not made a mistake or entrapped you. They took over your Ebico account and inherited the debt on it - which should have been pretty accurate, as Ebico were getting smart meter readings. You now know you must supply BG with readings.
When a company has gone bust or sold their customers to another provider in the case of Robin Hood before they wound down, the new company inherits your custom. Its in the terms and conditions which you probably didn't read. So you didn't have to make a new contract.
They are under no obligation to continue your previous tariff. Infact they have put you on a cheaper tariff. Assuming you use 1200kwh a year you'll be paying about 25 quid less over a 12 month period, so I don't really understand what your objection is.
You haven't shared your last ebico bill so we can't comment on your smart readings. British gas don't have access to your smart readings so you can't blame them either. Your smart readings and what tariff you are on are not linked in the slightest.1 -
Would you like to explain WHY you think you have been massively overcharged?free_money_tree said:
Are you saying that I should pay the estimated bill as it is, even though I did not make contract with anyone about this?Insisting upon paying the bill upon receipt restricts your options, but the easiest thing for you to do now is contact BG and ask which tariff they can put you on to keep your cost as low as possible.
When did you pay your last bill to ebico?
What you need to check is if there was a 90 pound debit you still had with ebico. I.e what was the meter reading on your last ebico bill and what was the opening meter reading on your first British gas bill.0 -

I tested the first link out thanks
I looked at the fist 2 cheapest ones which said "no ties"
And I was redirected to the energy suppliers site
The first one was Neon Reaf, and the site dose not work!
The second one was imbio. The quote I was given was for DDI instalments
When I first put my detail into the search engine I was asked how I pay and I selected "pay on recite on bill"
So this comparison site has completely done the opposite!
I will try the other one when I get time later0 -

I have not seen any sites so farAlso look on one of the comparison sites already suggested, put in your actual annual usage and address to see what tariffs are available and with whom.Only because you simply can't be bothered to look. You've been given links no fewer than THREE times. You can lead a horse to water...0 -
This is a question to ask what tariff you are on now so they can get the accurate unit rate and standing charge of your current supplier, so they can do an accurate comparison between that and the available suppliers to you.free_money_tree said:Gerry1 said:free_money_tree said:Yes, go to https://energycompare.citizensadvice.org.uk/ and also https://switch.which.co.uk/When I first put my detail into the search engine I was asked how I pay and I selected "pay on recite on bill"

you will need to use the filters in the search engines to check which ones will let you pay on receipt of bill. It is usually the bigger more expensive providers like edf, Scottish power etc that will do this.
the neon reef website is working fine. www.Neonreef.co.uk . They only accept direct debit, so not worth you looking at it.0 -
Some of you guys/gals/others truly do have the patience of saints, you really do.4

You are correct, the citizens advice energy website shows all payment methods by default. If you are using a computer, on the left side you will see "Payment Method" which you can change from "Show All" to "Pay on Receipt Of Bill". If you are using you mobile, at the top you can tap on the "Refine your results" button and then change "Payment Method" to "Pay on Receipt Of Bill".free_money_tree said:

The Switch Which website asks you on the initial search both how you currently pay and how you want to pay, so should be easier.0 -
