I've just made the final payment of £32.00 for my sister and brother in laws wedding rings. One less thing to pay every month. I'm glad that I did offer to pay for them though.0

Thanks @beanielou.
Today is already not an NSD. My son took the last "school snack biscuit" today. I was going tomorrow or Friday to do a small food shop anyway so did it this morning instead after droppng him at school. I have things to do today so that leaves tomorrow completely clear for house cleaning/house things which is good.
There shouldn't be any more spending this week though....clear run through until Monday when I'll need some things from asda for looked after person's meals/snacks on Monday/Tuesday. I'm starting to eat proper food again after my hospital jaunt so hopefully some of what is packed into the freezer can come out and be made into meals or the stuff that is already meals (spied a tub of home made butter chicken last night, yum) can come out and be eaten.0 -
Had to put petrol in the car yesterday so no NSD but I won't be spending anything today. I have paid both of my credit cards and paid more than the minimum payment but not declaring my new totals yet as I'll pay more off them if there's money left over from the grocery/petrol pot at the end of the month.
I haven't ebayed anything as I've been busy helping my best friend clean/clear his sister's house ready for it to go up for sale. The stuff has been hanging round for years anyway. A bit longer won't hurt.
I need to do a small grocery shop tomorow as I need pizza, some skinny burgers and some supermarket own brand cornetto style ice creams for dinner for my son and my looked after person for dinner on Monday and Tuesday. We've used the stuff that was in the freezer. Looked after person's food costs are reimbursed so not a problem. It's easier to make my son the same thing too.
I'm thinking that I may redo the freezer inventory tomorrow then see how long we can eat from there. I need to make space for some microwaveable ready meals in time for my next hospital trip (no date as yet).1 -
Well done for overpaying the credit cards and I hope you can accrue some more money to throw at them at the end of the month too.

It's been a busy week. I've been helping my best friend clean a relative's house which needs to be sold. Relative is still living in it and wants to move but....house is full of "stuff" and hasn't been cleaned properly for forever. Spending wise I've spent more on food than in recent times - mostly because I can eat again but it's mostly proper food and it's been portioned up and is in the freezer. I've also fed best friend one evening, looked after person two evenings and now my son's partner is here for the weekend.
We had "food" from the golden arches on Thursday evening but I didn't pay for that, my son did. My only job is to drive there and order at the drive through. Son had an English exam and felt like he deserved a treat afterwards (ice cream) and on the plus side it was a quick and easy tea.
It's a work day for me. Onwards and may the debts go ever downwards!0 -
Sounds like you've had a busy week. I think food prices are creeping up - I'm glad I now do most of my shopping at Lidl and that I'm gradually getting better at meal planning. I'm also buying 1 less bottle of wine a week as I'm managing to be good in the week. I buy 1 nice bottle a week and when it's gone it's gone!It must be nice to have your son and his partner around at the weekend and I recall that they are helpful around the house which is a bonus. Have a nice evening0

Thank you @Blackcats. Yes, the teenagers are helpful and my son's partner is better around the house than my son. He is used to helping his mum who has a small baby so he's quicker to offer to help.
When I wrote yesterdays diary I had no idea what a day it was going to be. My sister called me at 9:30am to tell me that our dad had died (to be fair "our dad" went a long time a go when he was resucitated even though we'd signed the DNR forms. He had vascular dementia and not much idea of where he was living and what was going on). Dealt/dealing with that and then my son's cat started vomiting which is a usual occurance for a small greedy cat but this time it carried on longer than usual. She's fine today but it was a worrying day. I bought the cat as a friend for my son when his dad died when he was only 4 and they are best buddies.
My lovely best friend stepped in to help (yet again). Teenagers are ok but I spent an hour online gaming and chatting to best friend with a gin and tonic in hand. I'm still not really drinking after having a gallstone fished out of my liver but I felt like I had to raise a glass to my dad (the family's champion drinker, sigh!)
It turned into a more spendy day than I'd intended. I treated the teenagers and my looked after person to a McD's for lunch. My dad hated maccies and so do I now I'm older so it gave us a giggle and was a good way of letting them think about grandad and marking his departure. We won't be able to go to his funeral due to lockdown and what we spent was way, way cheaper than travel, hotels etc so I guess that my conscience is clean.
Today will be a no spending day.....

What a day you had Cranky. I'm sorry to hear about your dad - the mcd's sounds like a very nice way to remind yourselves of him. Sounds like you are coping well - remember to be kind to yourself.
have a peaceful day today.1 -
