Could I get some help on delivery drivers not wearing a mask or any form of PPE? I joined MSE's forum a few weeks ago intending to ask about this, but I thought I was over-reacting. However it has now happened again. Same company (a major supermarket), different delivery driver.
I am in my 60s and not in good health. I have not yet had the vaccine. I live in an apartment block with many residents way older than me. Some are in their nineties. For the second time running, the delivery driver who tujned up at my flat was not wearing mask even though there are signs on our front door stating that wearing a mask is compulsory whilst inside the building. I complained by email. The supermarket's customer care department tried, I think , to brush me off, but I was annoyed enough to persist. Then they got rude which, frankly, infuriated me.
Does anyone know what the official rules are? As ever, gov.uk advice seems to contradict itself with every other sentence. We have to wear a mask to enter the supermarket concerned, but their delivery drivers can potentially spread COVID across an entire apartment block by going up and own in a lift all residents use? That doesn't seem right.

Is it 'vanishly small' or are you just being rude?1

Go down , get the reg number of the van and call the local store manager directly.0

Have you considered that the driver may be exempt? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.2 -
Perhaps the driver is exempt from wearing a mask owing to his own health conditions?
You shouldn't worry unduly about the other residents as those over 90 will almost certainly have been vaccinated by now.
If you're not happy with the supermarket's response then vote with your feet and order from a different company.0 -
Just tell them to stand back and you can unpack your shopping. There shouldn't be any risk.1

there are signs on our front door stating that wearing a mask is compulsoryWhat power enforces that? The block owner may be able to put penalties in place, subject to the lease, for residents BUT it cannot be enforced for any visitors. It is just a request

I’m thinking of all the delivery drivers and post men I see and non are wearing masks, maybe it’s not a legal requirement.0
