Pretty big changes I thought! Not sure I'll stay with them now.

I bought breakdown cover including national recovery having seen the recommendation on MSE, I broke down whilst on a weekend away with my family about 350 miles away from home.
The car was in the hotel carpark, I rang RMC to organise recovery home only to be told that national recovery actually means towing to a garage within 10 miles of the hotel I was checking out of in 12 hours. So no national recovery, left 6 hours from home (with children). RMC staff gleefully told me my one night stay was my ‘destination’.
Because my breakdown was in progress I was unable to get cover from any other company without restrictions so recovering my car home would cost £2k.

Please do not recommend this company, they claim to offer peace of mind but it’s nothing of the sort.

I have home start and national recovery, but Motor Assist want to charge me extra for using specialist recovery equipment because my Renault Scenic has an automatic brake which is stuck on
