It would be reasonable to send a text message to the number if entries were voided. It happening with no notification has a number of real issues.

Has anyone experienced a loud beep that happens very occasionally? The call completes as it should, it's just louder than other calls. Almost loud enough to be an error signal of some kind.

Some transparency on their end would be nice. What they are doing could very well be seen to be similar to the 2007 text message issues by BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5. There is a wiki page about it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007_British_premium-rate_phone-in_scandal

That statement is so broad it would also catch saving the number in you phone. It's an electronic means that allows you to enter repeatedly.

Even if you don’t save the number in your phone's contacts, it will still appear in your recent call log anyway, so you can just keep pressing the number instead of dialling it manually anyway.
I had done 469 entries before it told me I had reached the limit. That would be including a few calls that didn’t work and also assuming the 53 calls I did over the weekend were deleted.

I was over 250 but must have had more errors than I thought I did.
Thought maybe it was still set as 400 in error but just got the max entry message.

sorry if it’s a dumb question, I haven’t hit the cap before. When you get to say 250 in this weeks case, will it alert you of this on the 251st?

yes, it will say something like “you have reached the maximum number of entries for this round of the competition”. And will then end the call.
