How can they even tell you've used the comma method?

I’m taking a guess, but…The competition line will be looking out for bulk entries from bots etc. Bots tend to act predictably i.e. reacting faster than a human could, or selecting digits at very specific intervals.

Using the comma method, you will likely be acting suspiciously because you will have multiple entries that have the exact same timings.

I agree it’s not ideal, but equally I can easily see how something could be flagged.

I just don’t want people spending time entering if they are going to made void. Do some manual entries. 1 actual entry is better than 100 void ones.

Just another thought - IF the system flags comma entries as against the rules, do you think they would delete all the identical entries from that phone number, or would they delete ALL entries from that phone number, including manual ones, as having attempted to cheat?

The phonelines for it open on the 20th February, and uses the same numbers as the current draws. It opened for purchasable entries on the 14th January. Those free telephone numbers can only be used for the current weekly competitions which cap at 100 entries, but once the 20th* rolls around, they should open for the 400 cap.

So it's not a concurrent draw in that sense. The competition likely would've been mentioned on the 20th in this thread to make sure everyone was aware. Hope that helps!

*Friday 20th February, 5:10pm, after that weeks draw has completed. Closes Friday 27th, 5pm.

  • I’m new to this and I made one free call earlier today. When the automated message read back my phone number it relayed the first four digits ok, then there was a long pause, then it read out the last three digits of my phone number. The four digits in the middle were not said.

Has anyone else found the same? I don’t want to keep entering if my phone number isn’t being stored.

    Hello @SelBel2000

You have got us all checking now. Well I did anyway.

There is definitely a pause after the first four digits are read out but afterwards the full rest of my number is read out. Not sure why your middle four digits were not being read out.

I've had this a couple of times, I assumed it was just a lag in the call (like what you get when someone passes under a tunnel or something; just the signal kind of bugs out a second) and not a problem storing my number, because I pressed 1 and it counted as one of my entries (I count my confirmed entries up to 100, as sometimes I mistakenly press an alternate number and doesn't let me enter).

If you're not keen, you could just hang up and redial until it speaks your full number clearly and accurately.

Honestly, I zone out (ADHD) when it reads my number most of the time, and I've never heard it read my number incorrectly in the time I've been doing it (I've been doing it since they changed from online entries).

I feel the process of them reading it out is just to add seconds onto the free entries to hopefully deter people from enterting; similar reason they unnecessarily lengthened the pause between you pressing 1 and them confirming it, and making it impossible to skip the intro like you could before by pressing 1.

Because really, I'm not exactly sure how can I phone them with the wrong phone number? Seems a little odd to me 😅
