So are the two comps, the Wednesday and the Friday draw next week on the same telephone numbers, or is there a different number for the Wednesday competition?

Check the original posts and the terms and conditions for each of them.
There didn’t seem to be a telephone number to call - I just entered by email address.  That’s why I wondered if it was going to be a phone call after 5pm because I don’t recall giving my phone number.
If you entered via the WinHappy website you will have needed to register on the website and provide a telephone number at the time of registration. So when you log in with your email to enter, they already have your phone number.

The Wednesday comp is one free entry online and one entry by text only.
Is it definitely one free entry online and one entry by text only and not one free entry in total because at

it says "everyone gets 1 free entry" , "just claim your free entry" and "One free entry."?

There's nothing in the terms that states it has to be one or the other:

ITEM 6: ROUTES OF ENTRY, ENTRY LIMITS, AND COSTS

Entrants are responsible for all costs associated with entering and Entrants must have permission from the bill payer. Bauer Media is not responsible for any network or technical issues an entrant may experience, which may delay or prevent their participation.

    SMS

Entrants can enter the Competition once by SMS by sending a message starting with FREE to 61025, 61054, 63103, 64100, 65115 or 81215; PLAY to 61054 or 64100; ENTER to 64100; CASH to 65115; or CALL to 63103. Entry is free. Standard SMS charges may apply.

Entry is free. Standard SMS charges may apply and may be charged outside of any inclusive message bundles. The delivery of this message may be delayed at peak times. If the SMS message does not start with a valid keyword, or is not sent to a valid number, it will not be entered.

We reserve the right to run bonus SMS entry incentives throughout the duration of the Competition. These incentives will be communicated via the automated SMS response received to confirm the entry. Where we operate an incentive, the entry limit may change.

    ONLINE

Entrants can enter the Competition once online via the Website.

We reserve the right to run entry incentives Online throughout the duration of the Competition. These incentives will be communicated via the Website. Where we operate an incentive, the Online entry limit may change.

    ITEM 7: ENTRANT RESTRICTIONS

The Competition is only open to people aged 18 and over who: (i) live in the United Kingdom (excluding Channel Islands and Isle of Man), and (ii) are not a Bauer employee or their immediate family (including live-in partner).

Entrants must enter using a valid UK mobile number. The use of any automated entry software or any other mechanical or electronic means that permits any person to enter any Competition repeatedly, or make multiple simultaneous entries, is prohibited.

All entrants must enter on their own behalf and may not enter on behalf of anyone else. If we later become aware that the person who played the competition was not the entrant themselves, we will disqualify this entrant and no prize will be payable to any persons involved.

Plus this... No 6 month ban if you win!

Clause 4.12 (”Prize Limits”) of the Bauer Media Group Competition General Terms & Conditions shall not apply to the Competition. To be explicit, if you win this competition, you will still be able to enter Make Me A Winner or other competitions on winhappy.com moving forwards

Anyone else noticing the calls are slightly longer this week? I have had to add an extra comma to get the automated response of "1" being pressed.

I don't really believe "this can now be detected since we moved to the new phone system"

A phone system recipient in the UK cannot detect if a comma (pause) was used in the dialing string, as the pause is handled locally by the caller's device, not transmitted as part of the phone number. Commas are used to insert pauses when dialing, to navigate interactive voice response systems. There is no indication on the recipient's phone system that a pause character was used in the dialing string, only that the tones were sent sequentially.

I would suggest that the only way they could do it is to disqualify everyone who presses "1" after an exact multiple of 3 seconds - which would also disqualify many "legitimate" calls not using commas.

I think they are just trying to scare us.

I reckon they could have something that checks whether all calls from an entrant take the same amount of time (suggesting that commas had been used), with the keys being pressed at the same intervals each time….
I'm not going to risk it going forwards but if anyone from here wins on Friday, please let us know if you used the pauses or not 🤣

Easily defeated. Save two phone numbers, one with an extra comma and do an occasional manual entry.
