Sorry I've been missing in action for so long, but I think I'm back now. I've been Flying all this time by keeping the house tidy, but not actually cleaning every day. Some days I manage 15 minutes of dusting, some 15 minutes of vacuumming, some just keeping the kitchen or bathroom in decent order. It seems to be working. I can't work from the lists, sadly, because there's always something that needs my attention so that has to take priority. My mission at the moment is decluttering photographs and I think I've found a way of doing it that works for me, working on the Frog-Eating basis. I do it first thing. I've had several attempts over the past nine years which have always ended in me shoving them all back in their various envelopes and putting the boxes away again. There are also 27 albums, carefully curated from my past, in addition to four boxes, as well as several collections in the attic of family going back five generations. There must be several thousand photographs and that's why it's been such a problem. The solution that seems to be working is simply to get rid of the number of photographs of the date. Today it should have been 11 but was actually 12. I feel I'm allowed to stop after I've reached the figure but can go on if I'm on a roll - the day before yesterday it was 97! It has taken me several failed attempts over the past nine years to get this far, and to date I've decluttered 177 this month - that's a lot more than I ever thought I could so I'm thrilled to bits, and I know there will be hundreds more before I'm done on the first sweep through them. I suspect that getting up to 28 at the end of the month will be tougher and I'm not good at this, so my intention is to start from 1 again in March and carry on through the year until I've got all the photographs in my office onto one shelf, in albums or not, but at least contained in one finite space which is not currently the case. The reason I'm so determined to do this is that 18 years ago when my brothers and I had to clear my parents' house, we just threw all of my mother's albums away, having only taken out about six photographs each from them. There were simply too many of them to deal with, or treasure, and that has been a really difficult event to live with. This is my way of dealing with it and it seems to be working. I'm happy with that.I had thought of doing it through Lent, either 40 or the full 46 days, but I needed to get started so I just dived in at the beginning of February. I might use Lent to do something else that I find difficult because the structure seems to help me tackle things I've been avoiding for long enough.Better is good enough.9

Yaaaaaay!!!!!! [jumping up and down and waving to Honey_Bear]
Once I've decluttered all my ancestors and their accompany paperwork, I've got several hundred photos to cull as well. I have finally worked out a system for the family history that works for me, and I'll borrow yours for the photos later, if I may.
So far today I have
- stripped DH's bed
- started WMx???
- WULTD
- tidied round kitchen, LR, bathroom and my bedroom
- survived the one-to-one Zoom meeting which was on the long side
Still to be done
- more washing
- dust and hoover DH's bedroom, remake bed
- clean ensuite
- Rosie's walk, hopefully while there's still some sunshine - black clouds are appearing on the horizon again
- heat up soup for lunch (it's been defrosting on the radiator)
- give the Vikings a miss - too much else to do
- roast chicken for tea
- play with the ancestors if there's nothing worth watching on TV tonight
Catch up later...7 -

Wooty woot woot, Honey Bear is back 😁! I too have stacks of photos to cull at some point. I made a start on the ones cleared from both my parents’ houses, but the real issue are the ones belonging to DH and myself, what with him being a hoarder and all that.
Duster has been flicked around whilst waiting for an opportunity in the wfh / online learning / hospital call schedules to run the vacuum around. That point has only just come, so I have at least usefully filled my morning by doing some of the dreaded paperwork, including taxing DD’s car. She now wants to drive me to small town this afternoon so that I can post the said admin through the doors of 2 building societies. Wasn’t my plan but I suppose it gets it done, instead of my usual line of procrastination.
I need to tidy the kitchen sides, WULTD and maybe empty the dw. Oh and at some point I need to make a thank you card for the lovely gifts that colleagues at Job 2 gave me. The vacuuming looks to be off the list.

Hello. Waves to HB.
Dailies, work shift and dog walk done. Currently having a cuppa and fudge. I still have so many Xmas treats to get through.
Off for another walk shortly. Supposed to be having a electrical check later so will need to decontaminate house after that.Spend less now, work less later.8 -
Thanks everyone. You're more than welcome to use my photo-culling system, Ionafan. It was your Penny A Day Saving Scheme from a few years ago that inspired the idea!My weekly shopping / Foodbank-work-collecting dash has been achieved and the replacement freezer flap fixed in place at last. I might, just might, have found a place that can source the outdoor Christmas lightbulbs - they're donkeys years old but they were my parents' so spares are an issue, but if they can't be had for love nor money I've worked out what to do instead. Very happy with this morning's decisions and what I've achieved so far, now for lunch and then see if I can produce a decent pizza base. I'm absolutely determined to learn how to make a pizza that both of us really love because they're getting really expensive for less and less pizza. Very MSE, me, these days.Better is good enough.8

Afternoon all
Honey bear hi and well done on the photos, something I am always putting off.
Did some flying last night so I've almost finished my Monday list. Paid stuff all day today so not done any yet. Will do a bit now whilst thinking about dinner. Food shop in order tomorrow I think.
Window cleaner has been, it must have been so cold so I made him a cuppa, must remember to pay him online later. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair8 -
Please don’t faint, but I have done all my planned jobs, including the vacuum cleaning. I’m even making chicken broth for lunch tomorrow with the leftover chicken carcass. Only job left is to shine my halo 🤣.
DH is treating us to pizza this evening from the visiting pizza van, so a real lazy dinner and a bit of a treat.8 -
HoneyBear welcome back. I've just pm'd you a pizza recipe.
Took ages to get up this morning, there was a large BD on my bed.
As a result I haven't done a great deal other than a Zoom meeting with a colleague, a Zoom drum lesson, finished clearing out the bottom drawer of my filing cabinet thing in my desk. Mr N had a bonfire so I have burned all the confidential waste from recent culls, so no going back!
Filled birdbath with hot water as it was frozen. Very cold here although no further snow.
Drum lesson seemed to frighten away the BD so whoopee to that.
Oh and I did a 45min webinar with the company I'm likely to be spending money with to buy on-line versions of materials which cost me a fortune to buy in paper some years ago.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.10
