Thanks for lists. Mr N did quite a bit of flying yesterday.
We had a dusting of snow yesterday and more today - it snowed for most of the day but quite small flakes so no big deal. Mr N drove to the dentist 4 miles away for 10am and said the roads were ok. However we will have to get a proper check tomorrow, as we had planned to go to friend's funeral in Norwich on Wed. Any flyladies near there who would like to give any road hints?
- wudupa
- wiped all kitchen surfaces which isn't many at present, owing to ongoing hob-fitting problems.
- mopped kitchen floor
- one load washing done
- filled bird feeders and de-iced their water twice today.
- continued updating my pre-assessment checklist which is proving far easier to 'build' than 7 or 8yrs ago when I created the last one (both via G00gle Forms). Now emailing it to a variety of friends and family to see how it behaves on different devices.
- spent some time reading instructions on my new 'boom box'; our kitchen radio/CD player packed up and this one was on offer. Worked out how to play stuff via bluetooth from my phone to the new box so I can use it when drumming.
- finalised Mr T order for tomorrow. Decided that as we've had so much expense recently (did I mention that the latest item to go on the wobble was the kettle, so back onto Cu££ys web site again), we would get the Mr T £15 valentine's 3 course meal for two instead of the planned Mexican click & collect for twice the price (although to be fair, it often does nearly 2 meals each, but this may as well). Used a load of vouchers for Mr T: £17 saved and with the special offers that was another £14 so that's the kettle paid for.
- Mr N rather despondent trying to find someone who can grind granite so new hob will fit. One local guy quoted £100 - !!!!!! the hob cost barely more than that and if you have the right tool it will take less than 5 minutes!
- after 2 weeks of wrangling and having spoken to every NW bank employee in existence, Mr N has almost solved the issue of getting late MIL's savings/pension from Canada to the UK. Confirmed probate not needed. Fingers crossed Canadian bank does the right thing their end.
- went for a walk in the snow, initially I thought just 10 mins up to the village and back to get some air, but it was nice though cold so we went about 3-4km, me in my 20yr old ski suit!
- put a load of veg in the oven while cooking dinner so we can have nice home made soup for lunch tomorrow.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.10 -
Morning, it's freezing here, hopefully we've turned all the outside water off.
Bed made, clothes picked up
Lunches made
Kitchen is tidy
Have a good day, off to find my SMILE so I can go to work10 -

Morning all,
So glad that you are ok, Round. I think that gives you the right to be the Lady On The Sofa Who Bosses Us! Take it easy xx
Hmmm, Valli as a whirling dervish next week is striking fear into my bones... Love the fossils.
I am already procrastinating. Yesterday’s flying was limited to some reluctant ironing in the evening. This morning I am planning on popping into job 2, just to tidy up a couple of bits before I finish there. I have put a load of towels in the wm, need to wash my hair, and clean the bathrooms. Waiting for a call from the hospital. First job, empty the dw.
Take care all, especially if you have lots of white stuff x9 -
Morning all
Another dusting of snow here this morning but really not much. Yesterday was 11 hours of paid stuff, zoom meeting in the evening plus I did manage to nip out and run two of my errands, still have another two to do today and am hoping to do that at lunchtime.
Flying was limited to wm x 1, dailies plus I did manage to vac the kitchen and dining room, that’s sort of on list right??
Today will likely be another long day, started at 6:30 this morning, had a lie in lol! I’ve taken a break for a shower and brekkie and to set the wm to swish with today’s load. Not sure what other flying will be managed but we will see.
Have a good one all, hugs, GWS vibes to the poorlies, sticks available but I’m afraid I have to hang on to my spoons xx9 -
Spoons on their way to BadCat, Fayolle and anyone else who needs some.
Hoping your engineer has turned up as promised, asb!
We had about an inch of snow overnight so i was out in my dressing gown at 7.30, sweeping the paths and drive and sprinkling ice melt (safer for plants and animals than salt) to make sure that DH can get to his clinic and I can get to Mr Al later - I want a chicken and I am running out of root veg! I also have cards to write and post.
I need to hoover through downstairs and possibly steam mop the kitchen floor - no excuses!
I have already started tonight's stew in the SC and will cook soup for lunch while I hoover.
I have moved washing around on the rads and airers and found some that is already dry and can be FUPA.
Not much, but it's a start...
(((Hugs))) and sticks where needed. xx9 -
Morning all
Little bit of the white stuff yesterday but just enough to look pretty. Didn't get much flying done with it being a paid stuff day. I've just WUALTD and fed the birds oh and emptied the bin whilst I was out there.
Going to do bits off of yesterday's list now and then update and see what is on today's - thank you Natty.
Piggers thanks for the family update, wow at DD1 having 4 and congratulations on your marriage. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair10 -
