I’ve retreated to the LR with a cuppa. DH is turning out the entire contents of the small bedroom, most of which moved into there when we moved here 15 years ago and haven’t moved since. They are now all over the landing and spare / craft room. DD is cooking, so is using all the ingredients that she can lay her hands on, and the kitchen looks like a bomb site. The only bonus is that what she cooks always tastes good. It is tipping it down outside , greenhouse abandoned as the compost was frozen solid.I need order and calm!!!!9

I'm dressed and fed, candy has been crushed and words played. I have washing out 'for a blow'; there's a king size sheet on there which I managed to tear a couple of L shaped tears in (snagged with toenail). They're the only sheets that properly go on my double mattress because its a deep one and normal doubles don't really tuck under. I'm loathe to throw it so I am debating patching it (with the machine) or saving for crafting use, Or even for cutting down for cot sheets (someone's bound to have a baby sometime).
I also need to write a list of what I want to get done this week (which will influence lists on here - so if you have any thoughts speak now...)

Valli, the dog digging on our bed tore a fitted sheet of ours, and being 100% cotton I was really upset. I saved it for crafting, and in the meantime it's also been a toga for a fancy dress party some time ago. Keep it if patching it makes it uncomfortable.(((Hugs))) Ionafan.Naggy Nora, all up date here thank you, and now working on having seen a chiropodist for the first time ever I'm now going to see him every six months to make sure my feet don't deteriorate. It's not on the NHS but I can make myself afford it because I'm worth it. Equally, I've been recommended a chiropractor because my back's causing me problems and I want to be pain-free in the mornings which I never am at the moment. For those who can't find an NHS dentist or optician locally, if you have a local university that does medical training, in normal times they need members of the public for final year students under supervision to practice on. Very happy with my visit to the optician students last year with new glasses that were more affordable than high street opticians.26 more photographs chucked this morning, stairs vacuummed yesterday and Lent things planned.Better is good enough.9

WM x1 on the line blowing in the freezing wind, fire roaring away, a bit of admin done, beds made and hair washed. Time for lunch then I may declutter a nap x10 -
I'd be interested to know which tests you can get 'free'. So far I've emailed about the spelling one I prefer, and they replied promptly that I could use it free (just as well - no resources involved other than me reading words out over the internet rather than reading words out while sitting with a student). My preferred reading test kit is about £150 to get the on line version and the phonological awareness one is $59. There is a cheaper reading one, but it isn't as extensive, nor one that I like or have in paper form, which means I would have to buy the manual too in order to look up the scores. When they first approved remote assessment, the deadline was August and until then, all resources were made free. Then it was extended until December; the resources were offered half price (should have got them then, but had no idea we'd get another deadline and I was happy doing face to face until Christmas). Then extended to the end of March and no discount. We are waiting for the next announcement as clearly we need to go beyond March and apparently they are updating the list of acceptable tests, so I'm anxious to hear before I shell out money.Valli said:
Just catching up the Fred...and marking so I will reply properly later BUT check with the publishers. because we (work) had bought materials I discovered we can have access to the online stuff for no additional cost.Narc0lepsy said:Oh and I did a 45min webinar with the company I'm likely to be spending money with to buy on-line versions of materials which cost me a fortune to buy in paper some years ago.
Can't think what I've done in the last couple of days; usual round of things. However my decluttering of my study is doing well; both drawers in 'hanging' filing cabinet have been emptied, lots binned/recycled and Mr N has done a few running repairs to the over-burdened hangers due to me putting too much in. I've been through the 4 drawers of manuals, spare tests etc and been quite strong minded about chucking old stuff. I'm left with a pile of file dividers, plastic pockets and index card dividers which nobody on our local FB wants, so I'm going to see if anyone on Olio wants them.
Today we've been for a long walk, as we did yesterday.
Watched online church service.
Washing and washing up all up to date.
Nope, nothing else that springs to mind; just that the place is still clean-ish and most of the 'untidy' bits are waiting for someone to do something like install a hob etc.

Fayolle That sounds stressful, hope DH puts it all away again! My DS is a brilliant cook but his standard of cleaning up afterwards is not quite the same as mine. He is also 5ft 10 and 8.5 stones so has no concept of calorie control, his food is delicious but not healthy!
Been for a lovely 4 mile walk, exploring a footpath we have never walked before. I have made cupcakes for pack-ups, and made some plans for next week. Have written out a new flying checklist because I am getting a bit haphazard even following the lists on here, it helps if I have something to tick off (I must be bored).
I can report to Round (aka Naggy Nora) that I am up to date with all checks except dentist and thyroid. I do need to ring the dentist to find out if they are doing check ups, and I dont want my thyroid checking because they will want to mess about with my medication and I am happy as I am. I will wait for a letter.
I need to find something for DSs GF for her birthday.8 -
Narco - the tests we have free online access to are Rising Stars, parent company is Hodder and Stoughton. We bought the discs and some have been mislaid; hence my phone call to them a few years back - so now, for my sins, I am admin for them. I rang when I was 'helping out' in the school office.
I have 'bottomed my hall/stairs/landing/ Lightshades down, dismantled and the glass bits washed and the inside bit dusted. All wood dusted, radiator brushed and vacuumed. All shopping bags now in car boot. Inside of front door wiped down espcially bottom of frame, so all white and sparkly.

Valli here's an item for your list - whilst lying in bed this morning I looked up at the glass "dish" ceiling lightshade and realised that it needs a good clean

Thanks for the (((hugs))) DH has been far more liveable with today and made breakfast for 8.30. Not that I have done much since then except search in vain for a 1778-80 birth and download a couple of wills which are not what I'm looking for. Rosie had her walk and I didn't come home frozen - the air was much warmer than yesterday and my lungs were much happier.
YL thank you for reminding me that I need to put in the orders for DDiL2's and DGS3's birthday gifts.
Then I'd better go and cook our evening meal.

Oh yes, we used to use the Access Reading Test when I worked in FE. Sadly not valid for a full diagnostic assessment for uni though.Valli said:Narco - the tests we have free online access to are Rising Stars, parent company is Hodder and Stoughton.
A bit of admin decluttering to report, but now it is the Mr T Valentine's meal and a film.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.10 -
