Kitchen Sink Purchase - any help please?

I'm also a fan of a stainless steel sink with an integral drainer. Easy to clean, no leaks. We got a smeg one with a lovely deep square bowl when we redid our kitchen last year.

thank you all for your comments, it’s hugely appreciated and really helpful. I think stainless steel flush mounted it is then! I’m a bit of a neat freak but don’t want to be worrying about mould and having to change seals as DIY isn’t something I’m very good at.
thanks again 👍0 -
Curtains, are you having a built-in hob? If so, what colour/finish? Almost certainly keep the colours the same.Agree with the styles suggested, and also the 1 1/2-bowl type - centre bowl has so many uses, such as rinsing off food debris before chucking in the main wash, rinsing off suds, and, er, lots of stuff like that.1

So much to read, so little time.2 -

thanks again for all the input.1 -
We bought Franke stainless steel sinks and taps for our house in 1992. When that burned down, we rescued the sinks and taps, hosed them down, and they are still going strong in our new home.
I have replaced one of the taps with a Bristan Easyfit. I really strongly recommend that. It comes in two parts, so that you can really easily replace the main part in about 5 minutes. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?2 -
Most things will go in the dishwasher but think about the largest pans you have and how you're going to clean them if they don't fit in there. Ideally, I'd like a large double stainless steel sink for washing then rinsing and something that will fit my biggest saucepan/tray. I did think about ceramic but it will end up leeching heat from the water quicker than stainless steel, plus, as above, stainless is easier to clean, doesn't stain and can be flush mounted. The trouble with those grooves being cut into granite or whatever is that you'll end up with water going everywhere unless you have a lip.

This double sink for example needs a 1160mm cabinet

I'd recommend www.sinks.co.uk who have a massive selection and supplied our Smeg sink, at pretty short notice when John Lewis decided they couldn't supply the stainless steel sink we ordered, and substituted for another stainless steel sink in a style we didn't like/want.
I got a sink with a right hand drainer as I really hate those covers for the tap hole you get on some of the either way round sinks.2 -
curtains174 said:Hi, The hob will be black induction, ovens stainless steel and black. I’m planning on white quartz but haven’t committed to this yet, units will be a combination of white and sage green.I tend not to use the sink a huge amount in my current kitchen as most things go straight in the dishwasher, ideally I wanted to keep the sink small to give additional workspace. In that case you should be fine with a single bowl sink. I would definitely, absolutely, without question get it in black to match the hob.'Granite' sinktops - eg Franke's Fraganite (what a pitiful name) are good (I have one) but no idea if they are the best.

It’s much easier to get everything from one place, but I’ve actually quite enjoyed looking around - and I can’t believe how much cheaper it’s working out!0
