I paid a cheque into my Cooperative bank account by envelope via the local post office now 3 weeks later it's still not been credit to my bank account
I am assured by my local post office the envelope was sent that day to the processing centre
Does anyone have a telephone number of the post office customer service centre were I can speak to a person the number I was given by my local post office is an a press one for press 2 for etc with no option to speak to a person
I have also e-mailed the post office customer service and still await an answer
Any ideas of were I go from here

Posies* were, in the 14th Century, supposed to ward off the plague.
So is today's Posy Office the Covid Vaccination Centre?

I have stopped using the post office for cheque deposits. See the threadStill waiting for my bank to enable cheque deposits via the app!

Friend of mine paid a business cheque in at local PO about 18 months ago for circa 10KIt didn't arrive at the bank for over a week, by which time they had asked the writer to cancel and reissue! They don't use PO any more (but her sister does make posies

A good friend had a cheque lost in the PO system. A few banks allow cheque deposits by simply taking a photograph of it in their mobile app. It might be worth opening such an account just for such purposes - and it's always worth having a second account in case of problems with your main account. I know Halifax and Starling offer such a deposit facility, and given you bank with the Co-operative Bank you might prefer Starling, since it is more ethical than Halifax.0

My experience of depositing cheques at the PO (Santander is my bank) has been Ok up to date. I will use a Santander machine to deposit cheques in the first instance (Santander is my current account), but on Saturday I had a large cheque from Tipton come through in the post and on walking into town was dismayed to find the 2 Santander machines outside the closed branch not working. Luckily I had a plan B, using a cheque deposit slip and envelope for use at a PO. (you can order both of these items via Santander secure message online free). Deposited the cheque at the PO on Saturday 6/2/21 (yes it was open to 1pm) and it came up today 9/2/21 online as pending. So the "posy" but I found to be "positive"!PS. the PO being open on a Saturday (most banks and building societies close on Saturdays at the moment) is another "positive" and I avoided having to go out in the snow yesterday instead.1
