How is everyone doing?
I've been undertaking lots of decluttering prior to moving, it is extremely liberating and has definitely helped to make me feel better mentally. I'm one who hates throwing anything in the bin but sometimes it has to be done and that is okay.
All our waste locally gets incinerated to generate electricity and the ash gets used as well.
I've gotten rid of a good load of stuff and will probably go through everything again when a move looks to be even closer.
I'm bidding on suitable council flats so no idea when the move will be, but I ended up at number 12 for first bid and number 8 for second which is much better than I anticipated.9 -
I'm doing the same too with decluttering KxMx as we have made an offer on a house that was accepted. I have taken quite a few bags to the chazzers near me.4

How are you BarbCh? and all our other posters? The decluttering is not going particularly well but not stressing too much 😉 We had guests - DH’s sister & her husband + their daughter & her DH. First time we have had anyone visit in over 3 years 😱 Lots of cleaning & hiding stuff 😉😉 but it did highlight the need to decorate 😔
Hopefully now the thread is back on the first page we can get going again 🤞Be Kind. Stay Safe. Break the Chain. Save Lives. ⭐️2025 Savings Pot Challenge: As a monthly amount, running total = £299.00

Husband and I had a talk last night, and have agreed that, although most of our 15 years together have been very good, the last two years weren't. We have decided to split up, take our time, separate 'friendly'. I'm now trying to get my head around what to do. Notary first (we're in Belgium - some sort of prenup is standard in the wedding contract).

My decluttering is never ending although other family members think my house is quite empty. My lifelong habit is to buy everything involved in anything I do whether it be a hobby or changing bedding etc. Its perhaps something I need to look into when I'm happy with the decluttering, just stop buying things.

I have been reading through this thread and find it so interesting, a lot applies to me and my past/present life. Everyone seems to think I'm a strong positive person but I'm not it's just a front for the insecurities I feel, even my dds don't realise how insecure and negative I sometimes feel, they just see the busy, capable me! Case in point, I would love to go away just for a night on a coach trip I have seen and I know they would encourage me but not understand my hesitations, to be honest I'm scared!! I know I shouldn't be, the worst that could happen would be me not talking to anyone and ending up not mixing and being on my own, but even if that happened (and in all honesty it probably wouldn't) it's only two days or I could really enjoy it and converse with other people and have a pleasant time.
I keep looking at it, but can't decide what to do, I know I have to make the decision and that I should be happy with the one I accept, but it's going to take some doing, I feel so positive about it but .....
So I will keep catching up and take note of the encouragement you give to one another and hopefully come to a conclusion.
On Decluttering I went a bit wild about it a few years ago and to this day I don't own an awful lot. When my parents died it was a very long, time consuming job to go through all their belongings and I decided I wouldn't do the same to my children, needless to say I do have a few interesting items, a couple of beautiful items and loads of photos to remember them by.

I have completely decluttered my house, twice now. Last time husband took stuff to a charity shop, he was told that they only wanted clothes. I have two plastic storage bins in my hall waiting to go to a chazza.6
