What a day or two!
Had migraine and feeling out of sorts but still manged to do a bit of decluttering....
my toilet cistern has not been working properly, so today I took the lid off to investigate....I'm not sure what I did but somehow I knocked the top off where the water comes in!
OMG.... it was spouting everywhere and I was in a complete panic as I couldn't get the cap back on the water feed. the water was hitting the ceiling and flooding the bathroom at a great speed.... I was drenched in freezing cold water.... and trying to stop the forceful flow while I tried to work out how to get the water off!
10 mins later I got the cap back on and stopped the flow of water.
My son came home and fixed it properly but I am still traumatised 3 hours later!
Now I keep replaying it in my head!
I'm just thankful that it wasn't a bigger disaster!

Omg BARB! Thank God your Son is handy.I had a leaky cistern for over a year, n my water bills were shy high.It took a flood, n 4 plumber's visits to get it sorted 🤬🤬🤬
I hate having to rely on workmen:("You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

@candygirl.... yes, thank god my son could fix it. I'm so grateful that I was able to stop the gushing water. I had to think on my feet! I turned the taps on in the sink to decrease the pressure...... I felt like the little Dutch boy with his finger plugging up the Dyke!
I've still not calmed down....5 -
BarbCh - gosh thank goodness for your son. Candygirl I too had a leaky cistern and thought hardly any water involved, then Thames Water told me I had a leak, and nightmare, as plumber caused a leak under the sink (asked him to look at tap and had to get emergency plumber for that) and 4 trips to mend cistern.
Have time off work which I find quite anxious as not good with too much time, worry that I will just vegetate and not be motivated to do stuff, and then get stressed so trying to get a balance of chores and self care. DD 2 going back to school Monday and is finding out more about GCSE assessment so quite fraught . Have been popping in but not posting- trying to tackle some of my emotional clutter but know like physical clutter it can be chipping away rather than a magic wand. Like the quotes and posts.
Hope everyone is taking care, and being self compassionate! x

@TC77 sending you positive vibes.... just go with the flow and do only what you feel like and what you need to do.... life is a balancing act ... I think that we are all in some kind of mental circus and some are walking tight ropes, others juggling, and the majority of us trying to keep all the plates spinning!
But hey, if we drop one.... its not the end of the world!
I have spent hours in an anxious state about my water trauma.... but I managed to stop an accident turning into a crisis!
I've just about calmed down and thanked God that I was able to use my common sense and act quickly. So metaphorically I smashed a plate..... but I'm not going to keep the broken pieces in my mind.....
You take care TC77.... and as for balance.... think of things as being like a pendulum.... bad one way.... Good the other....... but once a pendulum swings so far.... it has to swing back!
