I will check tomorrow what solicitor CEL used earlier and then and email them requesting a delay on the case
CEL usually file their own claims - no external solicitor involved.
Now that a County Court Claim has been issued, there is no point in trying to get CEL to delay things.
    The steamroller ploughs on regardless.

The SAR goes to the DPO at CEL , nobody cares which solicitor they used. You cannot tell anyone to put it on hold , it's a live court claim

Do the AOS now , tonight , online , logging in with the reference on the bottom right of the claim form , Do not send anything off , nothing is posted , follow the AOS guide in the Dropbox link. , do not put anything at all in the online defence box , nor the paperwork that arrived

Name the location in case it's come up before
Trying do the AOS now but the Money Claim website is unbelievably slow/continually crashing.

Try a different browser using a laptop

Edge , chrome , Firefox or opera should work , we prefer that it's done online , instantly , electronically , not snail mail to possibly unmanned offices , think pandemic , working from home following government lockdown and covid outbreaks in offices , they have had one or more already !!

    No need to panic.

    As I said earlier...
...you have until Wednesday 17th February to file an Acknowledgment of Service, but there is nothing to be gained by delaying it.

    Thanks both.
Managed to finally get in and log the AOS successfully.
Need to go to bed now, up for work in the morning.
    Will continue later tomorrow.
  • Who owns the land? Was it them who invited you there?
If so then you already had a licence to park, you had no need to agree to another one from CEL, and as it was from the entity that hired CEL, it is superior in offer to ANYTHING they could give you.
That would form part of the background in para 3.
I don't know who owns the land, its a carpark for a medical centre/dental practice/chemist.
But yes I was there for there purpose i.e to service a rented water cooler in the staff room.
I did ring the surgery this morning to see if they can have some input. Unfortunately the practice manager is away on holiday and nobody else could help! Speaking to the receptionist, it appears that she receives a lot of call complaining about this.

That advice you talked about is for LBC stage , you are not at that stage , you are at court claim stage , so further down the track

Knowing where you are up to is key , as is knowing what is coming next , and beyond

Complain to that practice manager as soon as possible , even if it's to find out who the landowner is , saying you don't know is not good enough , find out !! Read this !

    Ok fair enough.
I will email my SAR to CEL tomorrow morning. Can't get access to a scanner before then and I need to scan in the claim form and a utility bill as proof of address.
I will then email CCBCAQ@Justice.gov.uk a copy of the amended defence as per the draft in the coupon mad thread. I notice that it recommends not to attach any other documents with this. However I have found a copy of the original signed (by a member of the surgery staff) job sheet for the date in question. Shall I not add this?
Is there anything else that I should be doing?
