  • Stick put it through a new mot and sell it with 12 months. 6000 miles in 4 years isn't a good selling point.

Thanks Williamgriffin.  I was thinking is it worth doing the MOT during the lockdown or shall i do it after the lock down is over as the car is sorn and is parked in a garage?

As you've stated on the advert that the car was a cat-D write off, you should have given the history and stated why it was written off and what was done with the vehicle to get it back on the road.
I think that you've overpriced it.
£5500 is just above the price guide given on Autotrader for the car if it's in good condition and one of the criteria given for fair, good or excellent condition is that the vehicle has never been written off.

Cat- D- Front passenger door was damaged in an accident before we bought it and it was fully professionally repaired.  Since owning it we had no issue with the front passenger door.

Am I missing something, or do we not even know how old the car actually is? Just the mileage...? I can't find a matching car on Gumtree at a quick look.

If we don't know the age, how can we know what an un-written-off value would be?

I'm also not seeing in that precis of the ad where it actually says "Cat D"...

A Mini that's £5.5k-worth NOW would not be written off CatD 4yrs+ ago for just a door.

I didn't want to post the full advert on here so I've sent you a link to the car.

Thanks, George. That explains why I couldn't find it... I was searching based on the asking price in the post, not the actual one on the ad, which is £5,250... So it's a 2013 car, 62 plate.

And, yes, the ad header does say Cat D.

Something like this should be pretty easy to figure out a value for, simply because it's so common.
There are 48 2013 Mini Ones on Autotrader.
    The cheapest is £2,800 - 80k mile Cat S.
    Six non-write-offs under £4k.
4 <30k miles. Cheapest is £6,600 - and the lowest mileage, just 10k.
    There's a £5k Cat S with 45k miles
    £5,500 will get a non-write-off with 46k - https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202009234119554 - unsold since September...
    £5,150 will get a non-write-off with 61k - https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202011035753020 - unsold since the start of November...
    £5,500 will get a 2015, newer-shape CatS with 44k miles - https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202011045782640 - unsold since the start of November...
    or a 2015, newer-shape CatN with 84k miles - https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202012066821392 - unsold since the start of December...

    So, yes, OP... Overpriced.

Closest clue as to right pricing for yours...?
    https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202011226371903
    2012/62, 23k, Cat N, £4k, white - and still unsold since November.
