"a common senario , I seem to recall a case possibly in Scotland where staff member had pocketed several thou"

I did wonder when there were two indentical cases of disappearing pound coins on two of PPL's car parks in Central Birmingham. There is either a machine fault or something else going on. Two rather bizzare events. That is why they need to write a WS for each other.

I believe that Trading Standards may be interested in faulty P&D machines in car parks..

  • the scottish case I was refering to

shows how easy it is even with largest firms and good accountants , for staff to "borrow " the odd £ or two "

ironicly there was a episide of the "sweeney" that was based on timid man who was car park manager pocketing lots to look good to women and the mob took over and did the pocketing

  • Some of these PPC's do not treat their staff very well and there are high staff turnovers. There is temptation when staff are treated badly and feel hard done by to help themselves. It happens.

Jailed for 18 months in 2015. Out in 9 months, so many fish and chip dinners wrapped in this over the past 4 years since then.

Edmeades has no doubt enjoyed many, many weeks in Benidorm, and Wishart has had much more to rant about since.  The world moves on.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

  • katyanne7 Just as a matter of interest did you have to obtain a hand written ticket every time you parked because the ticket machine was not working? If so how long was that for? Thanks.
I parked in that car park from April 2019 to January 2020. I'd say the machine was broken maybe once or twice a month. I felt real sorry for the guy sat in his car during winter to handwrite tickets. As I knew him I'd find him when the machine broke and he didn't know, often I'd be the first to report it. Hope that helps?
