I guess I am working my way through my to do list, on my first day off. Fortunately I put seasonal sweet rolls on the list and I made them from scratch - home made marzipan from scratch for filling, cake creme - from scratch, the dough, rolled and folded the dough as prescribed and icing. Very heavy, not perfect, but thats an other thing I have never tried to make before. Now I don't know who will eat them! And I fixed the slats on my new old bed, sort of felt I was falling though the cracks so I added 2 extra and screwed them all down. SO no big jobs started yet, but quite a nice day.
Grateful for a family walk, and ds2 making dinner after he has tidied up the weights corner, and sort of grateful it is too cold to run, and for getting a vaccination on Tuesday, feeling guilty, but incredibly grateful for getting it before going back to school. Age and asthma are my excuses I didn't expect to get it until mid April which was what the app said.
Not an NSD yesterday or today, today as I had to go and get wood for slats, could not find any bits long enough int eh garage.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

Glad so many people are getting their vaccinations. My parents had their first dose today, can't wait to give them a hug eventually!
Was on call today at work but didn't get called in. I popped to m&s and got their valentines deal for a little treat, even if it is yet another night in! Also had to buy some medication for my bun as she has a sore on her foot. Might need a trip to the vet.
My clothes also arrived, am sending one shirt back. I got a suit and was really unsure if it would look okay as I've never worn a suit before but I was more than pleasantly surprised!6 -
Lots of micro tidying - pills, toiletries and medical stuff are subdivided by usage - daily, often, sometimes. I also have a bag for stuff to take into the bathroom (toothpaste and toothbrush, soap and flannel, bar shampoo) and stuff I put on back in my room. Trolley is looking good. I put a small plastic trough at one side (was bought to do indoor bulbs) and put all the books I've started and notebooks in a line, then a small plant pot for all the pens and pencils. Masks at the back (nearest the door), arch supports at the front (need to be sitting down to put them on) and have left the freesia spray and comb in there as well to remind myself to use them. The other half has the alarm clock, my cup and a few pieces of cutlery and plenty of space left yet. Second tier has my money tin (penny savings challenge) and will have all the pills/ toiletries/ medical lined up by frequency of need and a box of sometimes needed stuff is back in the drawer on the other side of the room.
Put a bedspread and a few bits on the line to dry (hope that's the end of the large items for washing or I'm never going to get my shoulder and arms to stop aching) Peeled and chopped a load of veggies, mixed two Chinese sauces, marinaded beef and chicken and have used half the chicken, most of the veg (leek, carrot, celery, broccoli) and had it with cauliflower rice. More left for tomorrow and will do more veg and cook the other two dishes (will each make 2 or 3 portions, more if I can stuff more veg in).
Have spent a little bit of money today so will do next week's food order (have been managing with small orders and spaced 9 or 10 days apart) later and review the clothes purchases and make some decisions, the Oxfam sale (up to 70% off and some deal if you spend over a certain amount on clothes) and possible gifts for d-i-l and Beloved (tea caddies on 3 for 2 and a 15% off voucher only valid until Monday). Will also put together an action plan for next week, if the promised improvement in the weather arrives.
We have acquired a large tv with a dvd player and a kubo box (that's wrong the k was the third letter). All courtesy of DS2 and his gf. So mum is watching her latest series and I have the use of my laptop. Am going to do a little sewing and reading using my new light (i love it so).
Today I am grateful for delicious food, new to us tv (still can't watch regular programmes because of the aerial but some (iplayer, 5) are on the roku box is it), and my room looking much better. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage7 -

I agree you tube is fabulous for fix it tutorials (and free!)
Got my vaccine jab on Wednesday alas, I don't drive and hubby can't get the day off , so round taxi trip it is, it's the only day they have, but i'd rather spend £25 on a taxi than wait until..who knows. It's good timing as it means I should have 3 weeks clear before the children go back to school (Depending of course if its 8th of March, I have a feeling it's longer) Money well spent in my view.
I did nothing but watched a lot of Netflix, but I did put up my shower curtain pole properly with the holders underneath it as it kept slipping down!
Had slow baked ham, eggs and home made wedges for dinner, half the ham left for the freezer. Have a lovely night.Compers challenge 27/70

Did the food order (Thursday delivery but can make changes until Wednesday if anything urgent comes up). Happy with levels of basic stocks, no panic if something is unavailable one week (or three). Ordered the jumper I've been looking at for months and a tunic dress black with random spots of emerald green so fits well with the things I have (plus a code for an extra 15% off on top of sale reductions so the pair cost only £3 more than the jumper's original price. Left the cardigan and something else I'd seen, bypassed the Oxfam sale (will still use them as preferred suppliers for books for as long as the charity shops are closed) and the gift tea caddies. Have seen a fairly local veg box that I am keen to subscribe to.
Taking it slowly today, planning to do all my favourite things reading, sewing, dancing to music and a little walk, make more delicious food (getting back into Chinese cookery - have the basic techniques now so can play around with different sauces) continue tidying (aka making my immediate environment as welcoming and stress-free as possible.
Grateful for deliveries, something to occupy mum (card making and new to us tv), and not needing to go out if I don't want to.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage8 -
Checking in after a few days absent.
On NSD 7/15 from Friday and today. Weekly grocery delivery yesterday.
I got an 0lio on Friday. The 0lio basil is already whizzed up with some tomatoes, garlic and chilli to make an arrabiatta sauce for this coming week. The rolls are in the freezer and the potato scones are in our tummies.
Been on a couple of walks in the freezing cold. On our way back home yesterday I spotted a piece of soggy ripped paper lying in the snow with my name on it - ink bleeding out. My initial thought was it must’ve fallen out the bin during waste collection. But when I picked it up and inspected it, I discovered it was my FIL’s birthday voucher. I can only imagine it fell out of the postie’s bag. But the rips - dog?!
We are having a very lazy Sunday here and are still in our pyjamas.
Having said that, I have cleaned the kitchen, vacuumed downstairs, put on a washing, hung it up, and put away the dishes. And sent a refund request to our car insurer. They are actually running ads on the radio encouraging customers to get in touch for refunds on underused mileage! This seems decent especially from a car insurer. Will report back on the outcome.
OH has also made sesame bagels which I look forward to eating tomorrow.
Grateful for a relaxed Sunday, a potential refund on car insurance, and fresh air.
