Toni'sfriend said:You are all so clever. Honestly, I’m in awe of what you manage to do. You remind me of my neighbour. She said to me once (whilst she was wiring a ceiling light for me!) that she had been left on her own with three pre-school children, didn’t have much money so she just had to learn how to do things. What is it they say about necessity? But you’re right, we all have our own strengths and talents. We just don’t always recognise them for what they are.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

Hello, I'd love to join. I'm laura Mum to three lads 14-9 years old and long term married. Live in very rural part of Kent. I'm shielding as I'm asthmatic , although it's such a small village I can go out for a walk and not see anyone the whole 40 minutes! I'm looking forward to the jab, thankfully my vulnerable elders have had it already ,my brother who has severe needs in a care home has just got over Covid, whilst still in hospital he's getting there, and I can't wait until I can give him the biggest hug.
I've racked up 10 nsd days so far. Today I had to buy new socks (old ones have been repaired to many times) a new coat rail for the wardrobe as it doesn't have one (moved last year after 22 years in the same house) flea treatments and our kettle burned through!
Today I'm gratefully eternally for the quiet dedication of carers who looked after my brother as if he was their own, for a working boiler, and half term holidays. Have a good night all.

Today I am grateful for a lovely walk with dd, for Poirot, for getting some prep done for after half term, for the bin men coming out (3 days late - we reckon they had to go out gritting instead), for a week of not needing to set an alarm ahead of me.

NSD9 as no money spent. Lots of small stuff tidying - pills, toiletries, medical stuff which really needs to be in order as it makes life chaotic when it's not. Plan is to have daily stuff immediately to hand (a weeks medication in my handbag), more of the frequently used stuff close by (probably on the bedside trolley, using mum's extensive collection of toiletry/ wash bags) and more rarely needed items back in drawers. Not as much pain today (used the heat spray) but definitely don't want to be doing anything energetic so sorting all the piles of 'tedious stuff' suits me.
Grateful for heat spray, plans working out, duck pancakes (I even had spring onions in)My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage7 -

welcome mummy2threeboys
Thank you Mothernerd for getting us thinking about the practical things. It is amazing what you can do if you set your mind to learning it.
I suppose I have realised that I am good at reading and making fakeaway pizzas!! I’m also a good listener. I feel I have a lot of potential that I haven’t explored through being fearful or just lazy. Something has changed in me recently, though I feel different and more capable.
Still on NSD 6 as went to my language exchange last night. Today I need to pop and see a friend for her birthday on a terrace but will only stay for 2 drinks. I got a big river shop voucher for xmas (not my choice) but thinking about buying a new coffee machine and bean grinder, also a new pair of headphones
Grateful for meeting nice new people, for discovering a frugalling lady on utube through a thread on here
Have a great weekend turtles

Saturday- still on NSD 8/15, yesterday I did a food shop, today I bought junk food! But not an excessive amount of junk, and in this weather chocolate is an essential food group. It's cold, snow is drifting, roads are closed, tractors are out all around pulling cars out of drifts, I will try very hard not to get stuck, but I have a shovel in the car.
Everyone here is so ridiculously capable of fixing things! I probably "could" but am scared of it "going wrong". f0xh0les- I need to remember, the worst that can happen is, it will still be broken.
Grateful today for helpful farmers- community is a big thing in my local area, rugby to watch this afternoon, chocolate in the cupboard (but not for long- it will be redistributed into my tummy very soon) and social media for spreading information on local road conditions very effectively.

Hello Mummy2threeboys.
NSD No 9
Arm is a little sore today but nothing major.
Didn't have our Chinese for new year yesterday but got a lovely sweet and sour chicken in the slow cooker for dinner tonight. And got a valentine meal coming from Tesco tomorrow (hopefully!).
You seem to be able to find out how to do anything on You Tube. I remember the Boy using it to find out how to fold tee shirts. I must have spoiled him when he lived at home.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.8
