Under Charged - now chasing
Undercharged
Unique situation.
I ordered an item in December. Paid via a link that was sent to me (human input) and I collected in store.
Now the item cost just over £3k. I paid via the link sent and all was, seemed to be, paid. I was given a receipt by the store when I collected the item. All was in order.
I was called today from the store stating that I was under charged. Quite significantly - I only paid £22.50.
Was an issue with the currency. GBP was never selected. The user who entered the amount, prior to sending the link, never selected GBP. It was kept at “ALL” - Albania. Top of the usual drop down list.
As I say, I was given a receipt stating the correct charge.
The store are now chasing me to pay the difference (along with 15 other customers).
They are a large, global jeweller.
I have since spent some of the funds, and do not have what they need.
Advice on the matter would be great. Do I have to pay the difference?

Of course you do and they have 6 years in which to peruse you through the Courts, which they definitely will for that amount.UkAdviceRequired said:Hi,Undercharged

.....where is the company based that you purchased from. I understand you collected but am not sure of the Albania reference.

What do you think the legal position would be if they had taken £3000 from you for something which cost £22.50? Well, turn it around.5

They charged me in the Albanian currency, instead of GBP over the online link. Global company with London stores.0

You must have known at the time you were undrcharged, you didn't think they would want it? It's one thing to keep quiet, but you should have not spent it, you have pay it or send the item back (if they will accept used returns) but you will probably own them some money as they can't sell it as new anymore.1

That doesn't answer my question. Where is the company based that you purchased from. If you bought from the UK company, they have 6 years to pursue you for the money.UkAdviceRequired said:theonlywayisup said:.....where is the company based that you purchased from. US company. Shop in a London airport. Here’s the receipt. As far as I was concerned, at the time, all was correct.
