imaginary_80s said:That's strange. I'm on the Oak variable tariff and haven't been notified of any price changes. I've been with them since Feb 2021. I wonder if there's something in the terms about having to be with them for a certain period of time (e.g. 12 months) before they can increase their prices (though I sincerely doubt it).0

I received a price increase today. 2nd in a month but they have scrapped the original one. Here's my increase0

Here's the original now scrapped increase to my Hazelwood tariff

they probably scrapped the original increase because in their original 30 day notice email they told lots of people the wrong price i.e. they listed figure without VAT but explicited said they included VAT - as per my previous posts on this thread
its their way of avoiding lots of complaints
when I look at my account online though its still showing the first increase tariff so I suspect that my next bill will be charged at that rate - not sure if I can be bothered to complain though given theyve already given me a lot if credit in green monday bonuses0 -

If you're on a variable tariff then of course your prices will go up and it may be if there are sudden hikes you might get a revised rate. If you want stable prices, get a fixed rate plan.

The standing charge on the new increase would support your incorrect increase of not including vat theory . I did wonder why the standing charge was going down in the initial price increase email. However it appears the gas revised increase is a bit more than the original increase plus vat would be .
I'm well aware variable prices can increase as opposed to fixed prices
I was just surprised at a second increase in a month0 -

My suspicion is that the 2nd increase is just "factoring in" the cancellation of the 1st increase i.e. the increase is now occurring at a later date so the unit rate is slightly more to compensate
It might just be that they are using their blurb of "increasing wholesale prices" to disguise the original VAT error i.e. most people will just assume the difference between the 1st increase which does NOT include VAT (in error) & the 2nd increase with VAT correctly added is down to "increasing wholesale prices"0 -
Anybody know what will happen to our top up stashes if and when Green go bust?0
