Providers of holiday accommodation, including hotels, can only accommodate people for certain purposes. The nearest purpose would be that OP was unable to return to their main residence. I doubt a temporary inconvenience caused by replacing a boiler would count.

It took one man 8 hours to replace my combi boiler.   It would have been a day and a half if he'd done a power flush.

It's perfectly possible to get through a few days without a boiler, if you've got heaters/jumpers, a bath, a kettle or two, and a hob for heating big pots full of water.

My parents had boiler replaced during a very cold day. It took two BG engineers to replace boiler and radiator valves, about 8 hours
  • I've been without one for 6 days, unless you have a real medical need or you're way up on the 'I can't live without my creature comforts' scale, you'll be fine at home.
If it's the second, it's a good opportunity to toughen up a little! :D

Have you asked premier Inn what they think, seeing as how they are breaking the law if they let a room to someone who doesn't have a reasonable excuse for staying there.

My parents' boiler and radiator valves were all replaced by BG in 8 hours. One of their vans/parts depots is 4 miles away so if they needed something which they haven't got, one of them, could have driven there to get the part with ease.

It may be a change to a combi boiler which can involve pipework.
Re Hotels: it's a tricky one, is the house habitable during the work?  Its about to snow here (hampshire) and if the workers need the doors open (I dont know the regulations etc, sorry) then I could see why.  Incidentally, nearest open hotel isn't necessarily the nearest, our premier inn is shut.

Even if there is a lot of re-piping required, that still would not mean three days / two nights without functioning heating.  A competent plumber would do all the pipe changes off-line and then, when everything is prepped, drain the system, do the cut-ins and swap the boiler all in one shift.
