Ridiculous and spurious Parking Eye PCN

I have received a spurious PCN from parking eye and was interested to know if any else has had a similar experience and if I am obliged to respond to it at all.
My partner works at a hospital and I drop her off at work in the morning and pick her up in the afternoon Monday to Friday every week, no parking involved at all.
I have had a PCN from parking eye dated Wed the 30th December with 2 photographs which show me arriving at the hospital at 8.50am and then leaving at 5.19pm and accusing me of parking for the 8 hours and 29 minutes between my arrival and departure. There are no photos of me parked, because I never do.
I am interested to know wether this was an automated system failure or an attempt by an individual within Parking Eye to enforce a spurious charge based on incomplete information. A simple check of the cameras would have shown that I made two very quick visits to the hospital 8.5 hours apart without parking and that I do this daily.
Am I obliged to waste my time to appeal what is obviously a spurious PCN or can I just ignore it in this instance.
I continue to drop off and pick up my partner at the hospital and I am slightly concerned I will have to waste my time dealing with more tickets if the same criteria is applied by them.
Many thanks in advance for any information you can give me, Steve.

It's a scam. The whole rotten unregulated private parking industry is a scam.
The events you described is known as double dipping.
What happened when you and your partner complained to the hospital management/CEO/head honcho?
The answer to all your questions is given in the sticky thread for NEWBIES that was just underneath where you clicked on that asked you to read it first.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

It's called DOUBLE DIPPING by ANPR
Assume you can prove where you were after the drop off in the morning UNTIL when you returned.
Parking Eye are BPA members and even the BPA admit these cameras are not reliable2 -
It is called double dipping, usually the fault of malfunctionning ANPR camera technology, it is far too common read some of these .and complain to your MP

I have received a spurious PCN from parking eye and was interested to know if any else has had a similar experienceOnly about 2 million ParkingEye victims a year.if I am obliged to respond to it at all.You will do, or face a potential credit-trashing CCJ against you. But firstly you must complain to the PALS at the hospital as well as to the hospital Estates and Facilities department (or whichever department deals with parking). Provided you don't miss the PE 28-day deadline for your initial appeal, get on with the above first. But you've already had the NtK since 30 December, so precious little time left to do that in. Please see the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, first post, for the template.2 photographs which show me arriving at the hospital at 8.50am and then leaving at 5.19pm and accusing me of parking for the 8 hours and 29 minutes between my arrival and departure.Common ANPR failure known as 'double dip', search the forum for the term or do a Google search - quite rife in private parking land. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I complained to the hospital and they said they would get the ticket cancelled and I should receive a cancelation letter from parking eye.
They also said they have not heard of this happening before.
I did read through the newbies thread and FAQ's but couldn't find a similar scenario to mine.
I will search for 'double dipping' here though and see what pops up.3 -
I complained to the hospital and they said they would get the ticket cancelled and I should receive a cancelation letter from parking eye.It might have helped if you'd said that in your opening post!PE are efficient at writing to confirm cancellation, 7-10 days 'normally', but COVID could delay. You can always check the current status of your charge by logging in on the PE website. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. A hospital who has never heard of this ......... It's been going on for years ?Steve_63636363 said:I complained to the hospital and they said they would get the ticket cancelled and I should receive a cancelation letter from parking eye.

Someone is taking the mickey ...... at least you have confirmation they will cancel1 -
Double dipping is caused by scammers using ANPR scameras that record first entry and last exit, then discard everything in between. Hundreds of thousands of people get caught out by this every year.
The UK Government has banned the use of ANPR for car park monitoring in council car parks because the system has been deemed to be unfit for pirpose.
Unregulated parking scammers use it because,
They can
They are unregulated
They are scammers
The flaws in the ANPR system generates a fat profit for them
The technology exists to prevent this but the scammers won't install it because it would chop massive chunks of their profits.
Follow up your complaint if it isn't cancelled within say a fortnight. Escalate it if necessary Once you have done your research about ANPR scameras, what the UK Gov has to say about them, learned about double dipping and how many people are being caught by this, point that out to the hospital execs.
If it isn't cancelled, or isn't cancelled in time, send the initial appeal in blue text from the NEWBIES to the scammers and add a one liner that this was a double dip. Send it otherwise unaltered from The Keeper. (You haven't said whether the NTK is or isn't PoFA 2012 compliant and capable of making the keeper liable. That's something else you need to research.
Get evidence that the car was elsewhere in between, the two times on the NTK. Smart 'phone location tracking, SatNav history, receipts, work logs, etcetera then complain to the BPA and the ICO that the scammers had no business obtaining the keeper's personal data from the DVLA.
Complain to your MP as well.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

Sorry folks, I should have put that I have already contacted the hospital in my original post and they have said they will get the charge cancelled. I just wasn't sure if I would have to engage with parking eye as well.

Do you have written confirmation from the hospital? Telephone conversations are only worth the paper they are recorded on! Check the PE website, the job may already have been done.Steve_63636363 said:Sorry folks, I should have put that I have already contacted the hospital in my original post and they have said they will get the charge cancelled.
