It is not a fine, so please don't use that word on here as it implies a level of legitimacy that it does not have. This is even more important when it comes to defending the claim.
Ignoring the original PCN was a bad idea and not advised here since the law changed in 2012.
Ignoring powerless debt collectors is the correct thing to do.

Are you perhaps a keyworker? NHS, food supply chain, carer, public transport services etcetera all count as key-workers. If so, mention this in your complaint to the landowner, and it's never too late to do that.

Search the forum for the obvious keyword Roadchef and add to the pile of complaints that the CEO of Roadchef appears to be ignoring right now.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Ahhh that’s annoying! I’ll have a look in a bit!
    Thank you!

you can always complain to your local MP about Roadchef ignoring your request and ask them to write to him or her (the CEO) on your behalf. never underestimate the value of this aspect, firms rely on loyal and new customers, not aggrieved ones

    Very true - apologies.
And I know I shouldn't have. It wasn't advice from here I followed about ignoring the initial PCN.
And yes, I actually work for the NHS so maybe I'll drop that in - thanks again!
  • Hi,

I’m in a similar situation trying to get a SAR from Group Nexus for an overstay at Roadchef. They have also sent me this form.

What ID did they accept for your SAR in the end? I have sent a redacted bank letter and pension statement showing my name abs address but they have said it only proves address and they need further ID for my identity. I don’t really want to send a copy of my passport or driving licence if I can help it.

Documents needed to support an SAR are listed on the government guidance, why do people not visit them?
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

Why did you not helpfully provide the link? It can sometimes be confusing navigating some web sites

Because to provide the links and save the poster any effort at all would require him to do the search of the internet for them, then copy the links and post them here for the poster to just click on.  They might get that service if they subscribe to the MSE Platinum Member Club!
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
