so sorry to hear you're going through this as well. It's so frustrating isn't itSwash said:Just wanted to say I'm so sorry you're going through the stress of all this and you are not alone. We are now 6 months into the process, buyer needs to complete in the next couple of weeks, but our seller can't because of an issue with their title. Their EA is now ignoring my emails and calls.
We really want the house but feel like we have no other option but to pull out once that happens. The problem is, no other houses we like are on the market. Our plan is to view other houses once they come on the market, in the hope that one will quickly.
Hang in there, I hope it is sorted for you soon.
Fingers crossed everything does to plan for you very soon0 -

Even so, the one below the top still won't have been in progress as long as the bottom. You need to get your EA to find out exactly what the hold up is, or contact the EA acting for that vendor directly. Otherwise it's all chinese whispers.1 -

Why isn't your EA dealing with this? Assuming they're paid on completion, they should be as keen as you are to get this moving. (Or did you pay them in advance?)
The OP appears to have already completed and moved in to their parents, in which case their estate agent is already paid. It's their vendor's estate agent they will be chasing now.

Update- after many phone calls yesterday to managers etc , we have been told all queries have finally come back and we are waiting for just 1 contract to be signed (although we were told this would be done next week)
The person needing the contract signed is driving to solicitor to collect, bring home sign and witness and drop back of to hurry things alone
my questions is now how long is there usually between exchange and completion?
When we sold there was 3 days between exchange and completion but I'm aware it will be different when a chain is invloved

All parties in the chain must exchange at the same time, and all parties must agree on a completion date in order to exchange, it entirely depends how ready the whole chain is to move.0

UPDATE-
FIANALLY we have exchanged and are completing on Thursday
my next question is- what time do you usually get the keys? I know this will vary from each persons experience, and dependent on completion time etc but I was just curios what the average time was?
Thank you4 -
We were in a chain of 4, (FTB>our buyers>Our new house>our vendors to new build) position 3, took until 3.30 pm to get keys.0
