To those worried that it is too soon to instigate a switch - it isn't! Many of us did so several weeks ago and have either already left SP or are due to do so in the next few days.0

I am desperate. I have a big hearing loss & speech defect & mobility issues. I also can't control my body heat well. In Jan 2019 I got cancer. Hubby died 3 wk later after nursing him years & working fulltime (47 yr). Cancer spread as I waited till he died but grandson 3 got ill & also died (they in same coffin). four others died in 9 mth. I had a breakdown & thats when the speech issue rose. It is almost impossible to use phone so I am stuck with messenger or email talking to SP. They refuse to discuss the Equality Act 2020 to make reasonable adjustments for me. DO NOT let them raise a complaint FOR you because they use that to tell you you cannot discuss it with ordinary adviser. They deal with it by email and so far I have been royally fobbed off, all i get is email saying they will deal with it asap. I asked for a manager and next day when I asked again, they lied and said that was not possible on chat. Just every single reply is wait for the complaint email. Not willing to tell me how much i owe from 6 Dec to now, nothing....I am now scared of the huge double bill, the loss of a lot of money we were ahead by and someone finding me frozen to death. All SP said was if youre in debt we will spread it!!! I DON'T WANT TO STAY WITH THIS COMPANY....PLEASE HELP US MARTIN!!! 25 jan and still no further on. I emailed the CEO today but I bet he won't reply. I got it off the internet his name is Keith Anderson

YorkieMan2 said:However, SP says there will be no exit fees if I switch to another SP tariff. Implying, but confirmed by email from them, that if I switch to another supplier they will charge exit fees.Anyone have anything to add?
Now if you switch to another SP Tariff that has an exit fee then yes you would need to pay the exit fee
My switch will be done tomorrow confirmed by bot SP and my new supplier0 -
Sorry to hear of your misfortunes. Please post a copy of your bills (the meter readings), tell us the exact name of your tariff and tell us what the readings are today and someone will be able to do the sums for you. Redact personal info, the meter numbers and the S number, etc.If the national databases show you are now being supplied by SP you can start a switch today, but let's start by finding out your annual kWh usage, whether you can pay the outstanding amount and who would be the best new supplier(s) in terms of price and customer service.BTW, are you on SP's Priority Services register?0

All. I've read through all the posts here and am now totally confused. I thought my sp account was live so instigated as switch to eon. After ringing sp I was told I've messed it all up by switching before the account was live and I now cannot move to eon because the account wasn't live! Checked the electric and gas databases just now and I am with sp so what is going on?? The standing charge is 3 times more expensive (i only found out the price last week!) than either my old or new tariffs and I am worried I cannot afford to pay the bill from sp if it ever comes. I've emailed to complain which they've replied saying they are passing it on. 7 weeks later since GB energy went bust and I don't know where I am and when I can move. Mse advice was to wait until the switch to sp completed before moving to a more affordable tariff which I thought I had done but the lack of any communication from sp is making it impossible to know what's going on or where I stand. I am at my wit's end worrying I can't afford to pay 23.3 a day per gas and electric standing charge along with the higher unit prices and the condescending staff at the sp contact centre are absolutely useless! Any ideas please? Thanks 😊0

Switch', using annual kWh from actual meter readings.Remember to send SP the closing readings, take photos and save all your bills off line.1

Are you sure E.On really are the cheapest?Did you check those two websites and see whether separate fuels are cheaper than dual fuel?0

@Gerry1 has already given you the best advise about how to proceed, keep your own records/proof of everything just in case.
If you are prepared to forego the "cooling off" period and your chosen new supplier is as well, you might be able to move very quickly - the quickest I saw someone posted in the main thread was their electricity in 6 days
