OK, I now actually have a Netgear ProSAFE 8 Port Gigabit Switch - GS108.
The diagram on how to connect shows a connection between this product and the router. There is no separate connection lead in the box - just a power connection.
Do I simply need some Cat 6 cable with 2 ends and then just plug them in?

Terrysdelight said:Mickey666 said:Yes, fair point about really needing to know the reasoning behind the PC-on-the-WAN-port issue. An Ethernet switch will certainly solve the printer connectivity issue (as would the USB wifi stick suggestion), but without a better understanding of the WAN port thing, it's possible that disconnecting it will cause some other issue we're not aware of. OTOH, if it doesn't then it could be a baby-stepping win! Let's hope so.0
