    Afternoon all,

I've requested account closures for both Fluid and Barclaycard as they've offered to keep them open so I can use them again in the future and I declined. So there's no temptation for me to use them.

Just paid £63 to aqua as for some reason Vanquis has blocked me from making payments to them so have to phone them about it

  • Well done on making the payment Jade! Are you now going to continue to pay down the Aqua card? Or once you manage to get through to Vanquis are you going to re-focus back on that? :)
  • Jade, you're doing great! Be a little careful with closing accounts. It hits your credit utilisation rate [and tank credit rating] so you will be less likely to get good 0% transfers. What I've done is change all my cleared cards to 'payment in full' each month.

Hey! Thanks, also thanks for the advice appreciated. But, all my debts are on 0% interest right now and I have no future plans to make any balance transfers etc. But I do plan on keeping one CC open as a "just incase"

But thanks, I'll keep that in mind for future!

Thank you! Tbh they're both in the similar range anyway so maybe just focus on aqua for now and then get hold of Vanquis. I can't wait to conquer the 118 debt at 2k!

  • Great effort :) you’ll be funnelling all your spare income and efforts in to the 118 debt before you know it!
As it’s approaching Xmas it becomes really, really tempting to start splashing out but you’ve done so well and I think you’ve got this so hopefully you’ll resist that temptation!
If you believe you can, you will. If you believe you can't, you won't.

    Secured/Unsecured loans x 1
    Credit Cards x 8 (total limit £55,050)
Creation FS Retail Account x 1
    Creation Credit Sale 0% x 1 = £112.50pm x 20 mths
    0% Overdraft x 1 (£0 / £250)
    Mortgage Outstanding - £137,707.00 (Payment 13/360)
    Total Debt = £7,400 (0%APR) @ £100pm - Stoozing

  • How frustrating about Vanquis. Well done on not letting that derail your plans.
