Its much nicer than the mothers day range, I think the little cakes are smaller from the looks of it.... Im thinking lovely summer afternoon teas out in the garden with cucumber sandwiches on the trays and some nice fancies on a cake stand.... oooo lovely!0

BrownJasperDog, that is one colourful fantastic basket you made. So nice, I have to remember that as an idea for my sister in law who loves gardening.0

About three months, if you check back through this thread! No, seriously, I've been collecting bits and pieces for a while because you have to be quite careful that the colours go together, then I suppose I actually assembled it in a couple of days. Using adult socks, gloves and twine rather than baby socks means that the 'flowers' are a bit more bulky and heavy and more difficult to handle. It takes a while but you get there in the end. My Mum hadn't seen anything like this before and she did think it was clever!

will be lovely to use.i have the bath
crystals from that range and the
shampoo,I have not used the crystals
yet but the shampoo is really good.
It smells lovely.
I found the flex off my sewing machine
so Elna is finaly up and running, its at
least 20 years old a secondhand buy
but is a cracking machine.
I have
started my Harry Potter quilt and my niece
who is staying for the weekend is going

Oooh...might just pinch your idea for the socks bouquet BJD:rolleyes:
Fortunately my sister has little feet---both her & Mum are no bigger than a size 3 which makes shoe shopping with them a nightmare---but means kiddies sized socks to make the 'flowers':p Remind me please, is it garden canes you use for the stems?
I do envy you folks with Poundstretchers Ikea & the like all close by, but I'd need to have a long weekend somewhere to shmooze around such Aladdin's caves.....Full time Carer for Mum; harassed mother of three;loving & loved by two 4-legged babies.

No, just those bamboo skewers you use for barbecues. You can get them from supermarkets in the kitchen items section. I used wire to attach the twine and the gloves to the skewers. Some people use wire for the stems as well and cover them in florists tape (stemtex). The tape is sold in Wilkinsons. Good luck with it, please post some pictures for us!0 -
bjd - brilliant..................looks lovely.
Oh dear now what I'm going to ask is so simple really.............I managed to get a load of flannels for 25p each while I was away -all the right colours for doing yule logs...............is there a particular way of folding these ? I've tried just rolling them up and they don't look rightMary
I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !

Hi Mary, the way I do them, I am sure I have learnt from Rosekitten, is to fold in the 2 long sides to meet in the middle, same with second one, one on top of the other and roll them up together.0
