I am currently looking out for the
Walkers mini eggs that were in the 99p
shop last year,if anyone spots these
in the shops can they let me know
    so I can get more

I had bought the Cadburys mini eggs
but when I came to use them they
were all dark in colour and looked a
bit ugly.I saw these and they looked much
better tasted really nice and the size of
the eggs was more useful. This above is a
chocolate slab I made the tin case is about
3.5 inches in diameter and has a loose bottom
on it it was only 65p in a kitchen shop in
Llandudno, but they sell them in lots of places
I sprinked the eggs on it while the chocolate was
while the melted choclate was still soft.wrapped in
cellophane with a bit of a bow it looked really nice
did a chunky fudge one too

I'm sorry, this has probably been covered lots but this thread is just so big!

What are the things that you put on the top of the flannel cupcakes?

    Hi there,

Some of us leave them blank, others use bath pearls, some have used the mini chupa chip lollys and some have used things like miniature soaps :)

    Hope that helps :)

We always keep a look out for chocolate on offer
recently Somerfields had the 100g Green & Blacks on offer
£1 a bar instead of £1.77 But we have managed to
get cheap bars elswhere large 200g bars in homebargins
    for 99p

Most kinds seem to work quite well although its a
bit hit and miss with Cadburys dairy milk
and a disaster with Morrisons own brand chocolate

Dont worry about finding a mould look around theres lots of
stuff you can use instead, the tubs that trifles and desserts
    are sold in,small foil trays.

You can decorate them-with lots of stuff,I have got a bag of
mini marshmallows to try this time but you can use lots of
    different stuff smarties,fudge,sprinkles etc

Can I just add to the chocolate slab thing, do not use ASDA's own chocolate it is disgusting

Rose kitten do you grease your mould and if so what with and how much, please.

thanks for letting us know about the Asda
chocolate must be the same firm that supplies
Morrisons it just would not melt properly as there
was so much grease in it.

I dont grease the tins but do put a circle of
greaseproof paper in the bottom to make
getting it off the loose base a little easier .
But if you use the tin foil cases or any of the
silicone cases these come away quite easily
as well I never thought of greasing them.

Once finished wrapped in cellophane with a
bow they do look like something that has
come out of a high class chocolate shop
perfect for picky grown ups especially if
you use some an upmarket type of chocolate

also this time round I will be using the Asda
own brand roasting bags cut down to cover them
as they are only 99p for ten good sized bags
one of these bags will easily cover four of these
seperatly and its food grade wrap most cellophane
is not, fine for hampers flowers etc but not for wrapping
individual open food items like this. The hygiene side of all
this is very important,as you dont know where of how
the average rolls have been stored or prepared.

I think you couold be right there about the
dark chocolate,it was the milk and the white
one I tried with very poor results especially
the white one.The Lindt one is very good
and homebargains often have large 200g
    bars on offer cheap.
We have used a whole array of different brands
and all have been really good.

We also do the Easter nests as well but last
year as a slight change we used the mini
cake cases, the kind you put indiidual chocs
in and made lots of little bite sized
ones instead of the larger ones.this worked
out better as especially with the little ones
there was far less waste as they found it easier
to eat one or two of these than a larger one.
Same with the grown ups too they seemed
    much more popular.
