I fancy doing some of the flannel reindeers for my stall at the Christmas Craft Fayre.
Has anyone managed to find online, anywhere that sells all 3, ie. bells, noses and brown pipe cleaners.
Trying to avoid paying 3 lots of postage !!!
I made a reindeer the other day not too pleased with it though - not very happy with most things I have made recently - just in that sort of mood I think:rotfl: I bought all my stuff from Hobbycraft except I forgot the pompoms! The one I made looks far too big (maybe that is because the soap is too big) and the pipe cleaners I got seem very thick. Has anyone else bought pipe cleaners from Hobbycraft and what did you think of them?
I showed it to OH who said it's fine and it doesn't matter what anyone else's looks like.saving for ds2's summer international scout camp - £200
£60 deposit paid :j £100 paid:j £40 paid:j0 -
Hi!
I brought my pipe cleaners and pompoms along with some tissue paper on 3 for 2 offer at hobbycraft! I haven't used them yet as I forgot the soap! Which you kinda need!! I'm sure on their thickness yet as I really don't know how I will go about using them lol after all I am the idiot that brought 25 pipe cleaners and though that if I cut them in half I could make 50 reindeers forgetting that reindeer have 2 antlers!!!!:beer: Saving hard for a brighter future!:beer:0 -

Thanks for that bunbun2, I'll have a look on HobbyCraft's web site again, I am sure I saw that they could post out.A creative mess is better than tidy idleness0 -

Thanks to MRSMCAWBER for help in solving this mystery
and to mumoftwo for her amazing
christmas cake
Here is how to fold the flannel into
the shape for the cup cakes
Below is how to make a two coloured muffin
many thanks to Rusty Flange for the step by step pics

if you want to make a swiss roll or yule log this is an example
of how to fold it,I used lighter coloured flanels so they would show
up better.the cheap and cheerful 20p flanels seem to work best for the filling.

and then mumoftwo went on to make these
lovely christmas logs and my seven year old
neice made one too
based on an idea from tab1967 to use those fluffy light weight
colourful socks you see everywhere instead of flannels below
is an example from rainmac .The first of many I am sure how cute is this ?
But I am sure that everyone on here can do just as well,
So go on show us your cakes !
below are just some of the examples that we have all made between us
have a go and put your pics up of what you have made.We are all just
having a go,no experts amongst us,so dont feel your effort will not be as
good or appreciated,we all enjoy seeing new ones listed.

Well for the last 35 minutes I have been battling with a cupcake  you would think after I have found it so easy to do a double flannel cupcake and even did a tutorial that I should be able to do it in my sleep .... however this morning the flannels had it in for me and would not stay put, nor would they get into the cupcake case without ripping it  and they were generally being naughty! (nothing to do with my lack of sleep honest)
Anyway here is one I have made this morning ... yes it is the same as all my others as I haven't branched out as yet :rotfl: but this one is to go as a raffle prize/ for sale item at the coffee morning at my mum in laws club (Mcmillan coffee morning today!)
Hopefully someone will buy it then all the proceeds obviously go to charityI have also put in 2 nappy cakes to sell for charity and I am working there this morning selling childrens books (usborne) and my percentage of sales (24%) is going directly to McMillan.
Unwrapped:
Wrapped: (used green ribbon for something different and Mc Millan colours are green)
I am thinking of buying some more cases as I am bored of the brown ones now. Still got half a pack left. I like the strawberry ones but they do mickey mouse ones and also winnie the pooh has anyone used any of these? or could anyone show me any which will definately fit the flannels? both single and double.
Thanks
Hi I have been a lurker for a while and have nothing but praise for everyone on here and there wonderful cupcakes etc but must ask
How do you manage to get your doubles to fit the cases?
I bought my flannels from Wilkinsons and my muffin cases from the recommended seller on ebay but still can't get them to fit. I even tried ironing the flannels to make them slightly thinner and that didn't work!
Shooter XX:rotfl: Surely life can't get any worse it has to only get better from hear on out :jJanuary NSD aim 15days0 -
Sorry shooter, can't help you. I bought thinnish flannels (Wilkos 25p) and had the brown checked cases but can't get double flannels to fit so have stuck to single flannels as I can do those:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0

Hi what size cello bags do i need? the last time i made thse i made a right mess trying to wrap them in cellophane lol, till i worked out u could actually buy ready made bags♫♫♫"Happy Happy Joy Joy! Happy Happy Joy! Happy Happy Joy Joy! Happy Happy Joy!"♫♫♫0

I can't get double flannels to fit either, I reckon the brown cases the seller has on now are smaller than the ones people have been buying in the past...I bought 3 x 4.5 x 7 cello bags and they are just too small...I would buy the next size up0

I got some flannels yesterday in the pound shop....6 for £1 in a pack, brown and cream, pink and white, and blue and white...they are quite thin and would probably do OK for the double cake0
