If you can give me a couple of hours then I can do a tutorial with pics etc for you. Sorry but I am only on here quickly before I nip into town. Hope this is ok.

it has taken an age because its been
difficult to getting the material and then
it was another slog trying to find the
wadding large enough for it.Its 65 inches
wide and 70 inches long,my sons made up
with it.
rosekitten I can't believe I missed such a work of art. It's amazing, I should think your son is made up.
I wanted to do a photo memory quilt for my DD's 21st but as always couldn't get the bits I needed and I can't shop online. Still it's an idea for another birthday.
Yours is just beautiful.0 -
soblivion thanks for that
like most things you tackle first time you
spend more than you intended.I am going to
start another.I have struck a bit lucky this time
round I was in the clearance corner in IKEA and
there was quilt in there for £5 one side is covered
in rainbow coloured striped cotton fabric the other
side is covered in a thin almost paper like red fabric
inside it is the same wadding I used on the HP quilt.
It looks to be almost king sized.I intend to use the
striped front of this as the back and will make a front
for it and sew it onto it.Fingers crossed this will work
I will cut it down to size to fit the top.
But when you think the wadding on the other one cost £22
and it was £26 for the fabric on the reverse its quite a saving
already.I am just waiting for my sons decision on what
theme he would like,he is thinking of a football theme:j:j:j0 -

Rescued from page 4!!!
Well for the last 35 minutes I have been battling with a cupcake  you would think after I have found it so easy to do a double flannel cupcake and even did a tutorial that I should be able to do it in my sleep .... however this morning the flannels had it in for me and would not stay put, nor would they get into the cupcake case without ripping it  and they were generally being naughty! (nothing to do with my lack of sleep honest)
Anyway here is one I have made this morning ... yes it is the same as all my others as I haven't branched out as yet :rotfl: but this one is to go as a raffle prize/ for sale item at the coffee morning at my mum in laws club (Mcmillan coffee morning today!)
Hopefully someone will buy it then all the proceeds obviously go to charityI have also put in 2 nappy cakes to sell for charity and I am working there this morning selling childrens books (usborne) and my percentage of sales (24%) is going directly to McMillan.
Unwrapped:
Wrapped: (used green ribbon for something different and Mc Millan colours are green)
I am thinking of buying some more cases as I am bored of the brown ones now. Still got half a pack left. I like the strawberry ones but they do mickey mouse ones and also winnie the pooh has anyone used any of these? or could anyone show me any which will definately fit the flannels? both single and double.
ThanksRaising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -

I have the strawberry ones and couldn't get a double flannel cake to fit - I think they are smalller than the brown ones (unless my flannels were too thick)saving for ds2's summer international scout camp - £200

Yep bunbun you're right, the brown checked cases are larger than the strawberry, winnie, mickey cases. The brown ones are papery and the others are more like thin card. HTH:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0

I fancy doing some of the flannel reindeers for my stall at the Christmas Craft Fayre.
Has anyone managed to find online, anywhere that sells all 3, ie. bells, noses and brown pipe cleaners.
Trying to avoid paying 3 lots of postage !!!A creative mess is better than tidy idleness0
